NAV freezing on 2025.14.01

My Gen 1 R1T has had the nav freeze up several times in the last couple of weeks - actually maybe half the times I have used it in that time. I've missed turns because of this and have then had trouble getting back on the right route because rerouting has also frozen. I've never had these problems before - anyone else experience this? I have a 300 mile trip coming this weekend and was hoping to get a resolution so I don't run into any issues on the trip. I do have connect+ and usually have the nav on satellite view.

I posted last week about a similar issue with my GPS/nav post .14 OTA. I’ve hard reset, soft reset and sleep reset multiple times-feeling like the Bubba Gump of resets and no joy. It affects garage opening, unlock and self-drive since it never knows where I am. Next available service is 7/1; that’s awhile to fix something CS has to know about. Good luck with yours

I saw first evidence of this while driving to a local restaurant. Vehicle nav position was in a neighborhood a few hundred yards to my left skipping around the streets. Stayed way off for the entire trip, but was fine when I left after dinner.

I thought it was a Gen2 only feature. A bigger problem we encountered is poor navigation on roadtrips. I often run Apple Maps to augment Rivian to avoid unnecessarily prolonging a trip. Most recently Rivian was trying to make our trip about 4.5hrs longer. Following Apple Maps we arrived at our destination before sunset where as even 2 miles away Rivian was still wanting us to backtrack and come around from the other side. If we’d followed Rivian’s guidance we would have arrived after midnight. Not great when camping.

Plus it has more functions that make EV roadtrips better including a comprehensive chargers database. I use Apple Maps to find alternate chargers particularly when Rivian’s gets stuck in ”I’m a Tesler” mode and will pick them over even RAN. I’ll use PlugShare to report charging experience but Apple‘s database is more comprehensive than even PlugShare. I’ve come across a few chargers I then report to PlugShare so they add them. A big reason for CarPlay in Rivian - would offer up so many more functions and apps.

I’m not having any issues in my G1 R1S with the navigation. I’ve used it on 3 120 mile and a couple of shorter routes since the 2025.14.1 OTA was applied.

I hear a lot of people complain about their native Rivian navigation but I’ve had my R1S on a 5k+ mile and 2 7k+ mile trips and it has worked great for me.

My navigation has worked fine since the update, but I noticed that it was muted for some reason, so I had to unmute it.

I have also had nav issues since the last update, including misreporting my position, what I would call "spaghetti routing", zooming out to continent scale, nav unresponsiveness, night mode at 2pm, and no satellite imagery.

Most issues resolved only with a hard restart.

Also seeing some issues with Audible app and Connect+ hotspot speeds. Annoying but not critical. These have not resolved after multiple resets.

Never had any such issues before.

Wishing we had the ability to roll back to the previous update. The few advertised feature improvements of 2025.14.01 are certainly not worth the instability it introduced.

Yes I think it’s a bug introduced with the most recent 2025.14. A service appt isn’t likely to fix it, Rivian will need to patch it with the next update.

I have not experienced this in my R1T Tri. Drive well.

Mine froze up trying to get to a brand new ea charger. Would have been nice to see an overhead since I had a trailer. 1st world problems.

I haven't experienced the freezing issue, but the voice prompt for the final destination now says the wrong side of the street.

This started happening to my R1T Gen 1 on the PREVIOUS update. Never had the issue and then had it 3 days in a row. I was hoping the update would "reset" everything to working like it always has before for me.

No issues on our Gen1. Our Gen2 has been stuck in night mode, no ability to turn on satellite view and erratic zooming with zero control for the past couple weeks. Put in a service ticket to attach to our existing appointment. In service now. Tech indicated it was a known issue.

Ever since the latest software update my Navigation has been acting a bit crazy. The center screen Nav is in Night-mode and will not change unless you do a soft reset. After the soft or full reset it works, but after a day or two it goes back to constant night mode. The center screen switches between day and night mode without any issues. The center Nav also zooms out as you are nearing turns. At some points it zooms all the way out to see all of North America. I searched the Forum and didn't see anything on this, but when I searched Google there was discussion of this issue on Reddit. Really need a patch to fix this ASAP as rebooting three or four times a week is really annoying.

Same exact behavior on my 2023 R1T

I reported it last week to Rivian. They called back today and set up a service appointment for early July. Hopefully will get patched well before that.
