Sort of. In the US we have a few varieties: smaller roundabouts like the UK, as was as larger (and older, at least in the US) rotaries. These are sometimes quite large and may contain development in the middle of them. We also have "traffic calming circles" which are quite small and usually don't involve an intersection, but are instead often just plopped into a two way road. When you say "traffic circle", do you mean what we Brit's call a "roundabout"?
@skram were you able to retrieve the gear guard video of the crash??? I think the system saves the last 30-60 seconds of video when it detects an impact or heavy breaking.I forgot to mention something else that happened during the accident. I was on the phone with my husband during the time of impact. My car automatically hung up our phone call (he didn't hear anything he thought the call dropped) and it dialed SOS! I'm pretty sure that the person on the line dialled the cops and ambulance for me, which is why they arrived at the scene so quickly.
I'm guessing you have an iPhone...If you've set up your ICE (In Case of Emergency) contacts correctly your husband should have also immediately received a text with your location and that you've been in an accident. It's an invaluable feature...I forgot to mention something else that happened during the accident. I was on the phone with my husband during the time of impact. Two years ago my father (then 81) t-boned a driver who pulled out directly in front of him (NoVA drivers...Different story) and his phone texted both me and my sister instantly to tell us he was in an accident and it included the Google Maps location. She was 15 minutes away and was able to arrive pretty quickly after the police and ambulance. Furthermore, when he was transported to an ER in the ambulance for evaluation, we continued to get location updates every 10-15 minutes that he was being moved (he never acknowledged in the phone that he was okay) and where he was. It's amazing tech!
My car completely shut off. My husband went today to try and retrieve the footage, and he couldn't But the police have from a different car, we're going to try and get it from them.@skram were you able to retrieve the gear guard video of the crash??? That's a crazy story about your dad. Glad he's ok!
What did the other cars look like.I was getting off the highway and someone ran a red light which caused me and 3 other cars to get into a major accident. I'm so thankful I drive such a strong and safe car, me and my kids came out with virtually no injuries.
Time for a new Rivian.
