Here are my First Drive Impressions:
So Finally had my first drive, I know there are a ton of reviews out there but I figure Ill throw in my 2 cents for what its worth.
Honestly at this point in time I was hoping to have a R1S 8 Step process and the whole jazz and I would Forgo any mobile drives. Due to the fact that we are not even close we needed something to keep our motivation and spirits high so we continued with doing a Mobile Drive.
Pulling up you could see it a Mile away, the trucks headlights are so distinctive, you know you have an amazing car brand thats iconic with a distinct front end, think Alfa, Porsche, BMW. You see those passionate vehicles from a mile away and you know, its something special.
Walking out, even though I have seen it in person before felt that much more special because I knew we would drive it! I also never really noticed the height that much before mainly because you can do two things, look at it and take pictures, and then actually be in the moment and appreciate it. I choose the later this time for the most part.
The vehicle is definitely dog approved and huge shoutout to our mobile guide who spent a LOT of time cuddling our dogs (who basically lives on cuddles).
Interior Driving position does take some getting use too, ergonomics though are top notch. Honestly maybe its because I watched all these videos but I found my self zooming around thru out the menu/infotainment system like I have had the truck for years. I don't think its the videos because when you are this exicted you forget everything you know as well lol.
Again, that front end. Timeless
So my driving included several acceleration pulls and a lot of twisties. My baseline is my Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio and lets just say this truck has 0 business handling the way it does. Its hydraulic black magic. Even on this AT tires which are super duper quiet btw, I was so impressed with the driving and handling characteristics, the only thing that was happening was everyone coming out of their seat on a super sharp right hand turn going about 40/50 lol. Again huge shoutout to my drive rep who was cool with me acting like an idiot lol.
My big takeaways were the following, Wife is still conflicted on color but interior wise we are sold on Black Mountain. The truck even in the lowest setting is still pretty high if you are short (Wife is 5' 4"). Hoping the 22s will solve that, overall diameter instead of 34" (ATs) I believe it calculates to 32" so I think those 2 inches will help otherwise will need to get some sort of aftermarket running board situation.
There is a lot more to process but right now I am just walking aimlessly thru life wondering how fast the R1S can come and what its driving dynamics be (if any different).

Huge shout out to a Local Member for giving us Maryland folks a tour of his beautiful R1T who took delivery just 3 days ago.
I have been a member here for a while and like many others I have not seen the vehicle in person or even thru a glimpse of a spot locally. So I come to look at the vehicle with complete virgin eyes and boy did it not disappoint!
I was very pleasantly surprised at the build quality as well as it stance and looks. Negative Camber for days! The truck it self was the perfect size having driven a F150 a lot. The bed did feel a bit short but when the tailgate (which was impressively light) is open it is in fact great for hauling things. I am not going to go over the obvious things but I will just let the pictures do the talking!
The attention to detail is very apparent in all aspects of the vehicle. You can tell it's special and the fact that it is made in the USA gives off a certain pride you can't find too often these days.
Let's also take the time to appreciate the fact that this is a brand new car company from America who is achieving some incredible obstacles in this day and age. Starting a new car company from scratch no matter how long they have been planning is unfathomable deserves huge respect.
I feel re-energized in my wait for my R1S. Thank you again the local member!
