In conserve it suppose to be 400+, and with all purpose suppose to be close to 370. Whatever they r testing with is not coming close to what stated. Worries me as a new Gen2 owner.Probably not using conserve mode
I was told at SC that tire wear is not a concern anymore with Tri motor. Also I was told that in conserve mode rear motor connects and disconnect on demand. So basically only front motor works in conserve mode but if you try to accelerate rear motor will kick in just to help and back to disconnect.Probably because they don't want to wear the hell out of their tires...
What tires are we talking about. Not sure. Gen2 tires are same 22s both front and rare. May be you guys are discussing something else I jumped in clueless. Then ignore. It has the 22" super sport wheels:
275/50/R22 (in the front).
I think the rears are 305/45/R22s?
I have new Gen2. Ride quality is much better. It is refined. 22s on my truck. No issues.Unless they really screwed up the Gen2’s. My Gen 1 R1T is loaded all the time and is by far the best truck ride I’ve ever had and my EV hater buddies even agree. Now the R1S can definitely be nitpicked for the ride.
Now I see and remember they have summer type rubber on 22’s. Yes the 22’s definitely don’t ride as nice as 21’s or 20’s. I have all 3 sets for both of ours.
I took delivery of my tri motor recently. After 2 days I found that ride is set at firm, re-gen is set at standard. They need to make sure the settings before riding. And now complaining. I changed the settings and now I m happy.I have no idea what they’re talking about, I have a Gen2 Dual and the ride is unbelievable for a truck. I have towed both my boats and loaded up the bed with little impact on drive quality. I do keep it in Soft ride mode, not sure why they had firm on and then complained about it…
I had gen1 quad no disconnect, yes. But Gen2 Tri in conserve it disconnects and connects on demand. And the quads don't disconnect the rears unless its in conserve, right?
Are you sure it isn't the other way around? In my tri the rear motors motor temps drop when I get on the interstate and set cruise. That suggests the rear motors shut off. I've never had them warm up in city driving in conserve. Lots of starting & stopping would trigger rear motors upon takeoff (I would think?I had gen1 quad no disconnect, yes. Im thinking you're correct. The conserve mode works the same as it does in the gen 1 quad where the disconnect stays on in conserve. The on-demand thing is for the dual motors; it doesn't apply to the ascend models. Are you sure it isn't the other way around? Not saying you are wrong though. I have a SC appointment this week about a few other things and have a picture of motor temps while in AP, and plan on asking if it is normal.
Someone asked about the Gen2 quad with the staggered performance wheels. What tires are we talking about. Not sure. Gen2 tires are same 22s both front and rare. May be you guys are discussing something else I jumped in clueless. Then ignore.
My R1T Dual motor Performance gets 2.5 mi/kWh in the summer. They had to be in sport mode.looks like on one screen they had 1.88 efficiency
Staged releases are pretty typical in automotive world.Have there been any clues as to why the Gen 2 Quad wasn’t released at the same time as the other Gen 2s? I figured being a more complicated drivetrain and upscale trim, they just need a little more time to refine it However, maybe there are some technical challenges implementing the enduro motors in a production level Quad vehicle.
Other than the additional motor and Super Sport Wheels, how different will the Quad be from a Tri?
If they released the quad first, there likely wouldn't be many takers on the tri. For 10k more, it seems like a no brainer to go with the quad over the tri.Staged releases are pretty typical in automotive world.
My guess is they didn't want the hype of the G2 Quad to reduce the initial hype of the G2 Tri.
Ultimately when they do release the G2 Quad it will reduce the hype of the Tri, so by staggering they get more exposure in press, etc...
The 0-60, quarter mile time, and trap speed are almost identical to a Corvette e-ray. Absolutely astonishing. The 60-0 braking distance and skid pad performance are also amazing for a 6900 pound pickup truck. The trap speed of 128.6 mph indicates that it likely has closer to 1150 hp. The best trap speed I’ve seen for the cyberbeast is 119 mph, a huge difference. This is Motor Trend test data for the R1T. Car and Driver will probably squeeze a little additional performance out of it.https://www.motortrend.com/reviews/2025-rivian-r1t-quad-max-first-test-review/
2025 Rivian R1T Quad Max First Test: So, It’s Fast. But There’s Way More Here.
An electric truck with absurd acceleration isn’t news anymore. What else does the new second-gen Rivian R1T have in its bag?
