I’m saying that air suspension is inferior off road both in terms of capability or ride quality. On road, sure it’s fine, but off road you won’t find air suspension in any “discipline” of more serious off the pavement fun.
Why would air suspension offer better ride quality on road but worse ride quality off road? Also if you look at the RTI score of the R1T compared to other steel springed vehicles out of the factory, it's very competitive.

RTI has nothing to do with dampening, it only measures travel.

if you do any large amount of off roading you’d be better off not having the air. It’s a rougher ride with more compromises than a tuned resovoir shock.
Good to know. Thanks. I'm not a (planned) off-roader.

Yes I know. I was addressing your claim that air suspension is less capable off road. Your claim still doesn't make sense that air suspension would offer better ride on road but worse ride off road. Especially since the dampening has been tuned for both cases, and dampening tuning has nothing to do with whether it's air suspension or steel suspension.

I didn’t say it was better on road, I said it was okay.

very disappointing to hear about the front seats not folding flat in the R2/R3X.
The R2 probably has enough space behind front seats to sleep but the R3 definitely won't so that is a let down. .

It's not just about the amount of space but the ability to access the screen and other controls that are proprietary to front seat occupants.

Quick question: do you above to buy tickets or reserve a spot to these events? I saw they mentioned NYC Oct 11-13. Didn't want to miss out if you had to book something.

Usually you can reserve a spot for free by looking at the events page for the space they are being held.

At least in Denver they ask you to reserve a spot during a time window (via the event page for that space), but every time I've gone it's a free-for-all within 15 minutes of the event starting and the doors are wide open for anyone to wander in. They seem to check in the first wave of people then give up...

For us, it's really just the removal of the fold flat front seats that's a nonstarter for our needs.
The lack of fold flat seats in the R3 is especially disappointing as it has less space to work with.

We've got a Kona EV which uses the non-NACS charger. We've got a charger installed at home. With new Rivians moving to NACS, are we going to need a new charger or will an adapter be sturdy enough to use for years of charging a Rivian R2 or R3?

(first post on this board, hello from Colorado!)

This adapter from A2Z will let you convert your J1772 (AC Alternating Current Home Charging) station to a NACS connector.

https://a2zevshop.com/products/j1772-to-nacs

Tesla also sells a similar adapter and provides one to all Tesla owners. This allows Tesla vehicles to use all the slow (less than 10 kW) public chargers that have been deployed.
