Hey all, anyone see this post yesterday about charging the R1T Max Pack from 1% to 100% off a 350kW charger?
How does this compare with a Large Pack charge curve?

Looks like 1%-80% (328mi) took 48 min. 20%-80% (246mi) took 38min.

Here's my attempt to crudely summarize her max pack charging experience:

You're missing some time points at higher SOC--see my chart here:

edit: added my chart.

Similar curve from the looks but technically it's charge a little faster since it's a 149kw pack

Yeah, it seems the Large pack has about the same 20%-80% charge time of ~37min.
Ever since I saw Out of Spec's claim that the max pack wouldn't charge faster but at the same rate I really wanted to find out if that was true. "The charging speed is going to be identical between the two... The amount of range you're adding during a charging session is identical."

But like you mentioned, it's a larger pack with more usable kWh so with the same/similar curve you're going to be charging faster with more miles/min right?

137kWh is the Max Pack size?

What am I missing here. This chart doesn’t make sense.

Seems a little slower than expected at the peak. My experience is that my Large Pack will charge at >200kW between ~10% and ~40%.

It was expected since the way the achieve it is more energy dense cells instead of more cells

In most cases, energy density and charging time are opposites when compared in cells that the fundamental are close to each other

I think 142kWh was the Max pack usable capacity. Since the owner started charging at approximately 1%, some of the variance can be explained there.

This chart is mainly showing the charging time and charge rate for the new max pack since I haven't been able to find much info about it. I'm just going by what the owner posted on Twitter so it's missing some data points like elapsed time or total kWh charged.

Oh yeah I get it - I trust you transcribed it correctly, but something about the base data doesn’t work.

135kWh for Large pack = 137+ for a full charge (other vampire drain during charging)

I think the Max is 149kWh, so call it maybe 152 for a full charge.

I don’t have a Twitter account so can’t see the source of my confusion, apologies.

There's a whole thread but you have to log in to see the rest. The pics show power delivered and percentage full so simple math says 149kw usable battery

Oh I see. I didn't realize a full charge would actually go over the usable capacity due to drain from other systems.
