Dollar Tree sells the Matchbox cars too. My store had a red Model Y, blue Model X and grey roadster. I started to buy one, but put it back. When I was young, the cars were nicer with opening doors and trunks.

They went for aftermarket wheels to have snow tires.

I know, right? I'm glad I'm not the only one who remembers that the doors and trunks opened. Looking at the Matchbox R1T and I'm not impressed at all relative to what I remember as a kid.

They don't make them like the used to applies to Matchbox as well....

Yikes online resellers are charging $30-40 for this. While target sells a 9 pack of matchbox cars for $10. I hope no one is paying the markups for these things.

The markups as a percentage of the actual cost of the Matchbox are orders of magnitude more than the markups on the ACTUAL R1T.

Looks like Matchbox is getting screwed out of even more profit than Rivian is with the resellers.

Or the "dealers"..Target...Walmart....etc... they could be putting a huge "Market Adjustment" on these.

Got lucky today and picked up a matchbox Rivian at a Family Dollar store in Southern Maine. Only 1 left and snagged it for $1.35
