Maps crash looping?

Since the last update, I can’t get Maps to work for more than one trip. It just keeps crashing and either showing nothing, or kicking me back out to Music. The driver display also shows a flickering widget when it’s on Map when in this state.

Is anyone else seeing this? I messaged support about this, but now that I’m not seeing any mention of it in the next update change logs, I’m worried it’s something else.

Soft resets had been fixing it initially, but that stopped working so I tried a hard reset, which also didn’t fix it.

Yep, many of us have the same problem. Disable Wi-Fi and do a soft reset. Keep Wi-Fi off for now. Open a ticket with rivian. Itis a software issue .

Welcome to bugs and regressions introduced by last 2 updates. Funny part that Rivian claims they are not aware of the problems ...

Same issue here along with random alarms and gear tunnel not locking.

Happened to me twice. The first time it fixed itself after soft resets. It happened again this wkd and i had to do 5 or 6 soft resets

Started happening to me as well during a trip to Quebec last Wednesday. 2 full resets and 3 soft resets and it has yet to come back.

Made the drive back to Massachusetts a bit more challenging without battery preconditioning, but I made it.

Hoping the next update fixes it. I will try more soft resets later today to see if that gets it back.

Open a ticket with Rivian - they should see that users have the problems and complain about them. In theory, they should pull this information automatically (it is easy to see crashes and soft/hard resets in the log). In reality - they seem to ignore this (or pretend to ignore)

Yep. It's been driving me crazy. I have a ticket out. Service called and told me to do a full reset and let it sleep for a long time. I did, when it came up, the only thing I had working was the speedometer. Soft reset got me some of it back, but not nav or audio (and I her things as well). I'm s been SUPER buggy since the update but was rock solid before that. Its a bummer because I got the chance to show it off to 4 coworkers today but was only embarrassed.

Try to turn off the wifi - and then do the soft reset.

What I am amazed that if you asked Rivian if they know about this problem (that many many of us have) - they will say no. It is either a software problem (started with the last 2 updates) or it is a hardware problem that started to appear after the last 2 updates.

What frustrates me is that they must monitor their cars and get notifications on crashes, soft resets, etc. Seems they are not doing this. Wassym is silent.

And the last one - all Rivian YouTube influencers - they are silent as well. Not a single video about the issue, not an update to their existing video about the latest software update.

Same. Issues a ticket about two weeks ago, problem becoming more prevalent and more frequent. Main display crashes while driving frequently also and stays black.

haven’t tried turning on WiFi, will do that this Morning.

Also corrupted my Drive cam storage, wouldn’t read the drive, nor format it, or anything else. Removed it and did a full format on a PC, then reinserted… works properly now.
