My first car was exact opposite. 79 Camaro with 350 4bbl and open element air cleaner and true dual exhaust. Coupled to a 3 speed automatic and 2.73 rear axle ratio, open differential. 165 HP. Couldn't spin a tire without some additional steering angle to unweight it. 0-60 in alot more than a Prius I am sure. It did sound pretty good...but was super slow....

That was like turning the cable box to the scrambled porn channel. Alot of noise but no actual sex.....

But in seriousness.....no....lack of noise is not in anyway diminishing the trill factor of the R1T...at all.....

Making artificial V8 sounds might backfire on Dodge. Let’s hope they install an on/off button on their upcoming 2024 eMuscle car, Dodge Daytona.

Wow that sounds awful. It sounds like a jungle cat transformer or something from an off brand cartoon.

Coming from a TRX and a cammed hemi for a decade before that, I am honestly surprised at how little I miss the sound. I miss it on start up as I walk up the car and can feel the ground vibrate. Once driving I really don't even notice that there is no exhuast sound, plus the R1T makes a sound of its own when accelerating hard. The only time I'd really like my exhaust back is when passing slow turds in the left lane or pulling away from stop next to a junker with garbage subs rattling every panel and bolt.

I will also say I prefer the involvement of the 1 pedal, single gear far more than any traditional or dual clutch automatic ever. Its definitely not as good as a true manual, and I still miss my 06 GTO that I swapped for my Charger when my 1st kid was born, but trucks and even 4 door family haulers with manuals are nearly gone, so I don't feel like I am really losing anything. I don't have the space for a dedicated weekend/fun car, and the R1T is about the most fun you can have with enough space for a family of 5 plus sports equipment and camping gear. The best part of the R1T experience is that it is always on boil. There is no need to keep it in a lower gear to keep the engine in its sweet spot. When I took delivery of mine I was almost certain I was going to keep my TRX and flip the R1T, but in 3 weeks of driving I am sold on the R1T.
