Although I don't have my R1S yet, the forums are good places to learn what things have gone wrong for new owners of the R1T. I hope there can be a "List of Things to inspect" (LOTI) when taking delivery" for both R1T and R1S vehicles. If you've taken delivery and can provide some advice to prospective owners, please add to LOTI.

Below is a list of things I can recall people having trouble with. Some of the problems (bricking in the middle of an intersection) might be impossible to detect/predict or fix at delivery, but PLEASE ADD THEM, ANNOTATE OR CORRECT LIST so people can catch minor and potentially major problems during the delivery process. It may even help Rivian deliver better vehicles. Frankly, Rivian should have a list like this that delivery specialists check BEFORE every delivery.

1. Are all methods (phone, key fob, cards, wrist band) to enter vehicle operational?
1a. When you walk away from the vehicle, does it shut down properly?
2. Does tonneau cover work properly?
3. Any noticeable 12V battery issues?
4. Are underbody panels screwed in tightly?
5. Does each door shut properly?
5a. Is weatherstripping aligned?
6. Does AC, heat and venting work properly?
7. Make sure your delivery specialist shows you how to fix frozen screens or the various re-booting methods

I wonder if the punch list will be longer or shorter when I take delivery of my Rivian in 2024 . . .
Just kidding, it won't be 2024, more like 2025.

Really just kidding. The list is incredibly helpful, even it the wait is interminable.

My guide told me today that my truck should be ready for delivery next week. I found these lists to be potentially useful as long as my excitement to drive away doesn't get the better of me. Haven't seen any shipment information and schedule delivery is still unavailable. I'll be picking up at the Phoenix service center. All I have left to do is insurance and I'm staying with State Farm. I can make a call and have an insurance card in my in box in 5 minutes.

Expect some things not to be right with end of quarter vehicles. I would make them give you a new frunk hood. Tonneau redo is coming.
