Did your insurance stay down? Mine started off great in 2016 because of the safety gear in the model S then went up every 6 months until 2019 when it started coming back down. Still significantly higher than the original rate in 2016 But getting better.

I think now the insurance companies have the Tesla data to use for initial calculations and expect the Rivian to be higher than some similar ICE models. When Tesla came out they did not really have anything close to use for a baseline.

Hard to tell. In the years after that, I added kids and other cars to my policy, plus had a traffic ticket or two in there. To many other factors that would cause price increases.

Eggz Ackley.... uh, Did you just refer to yourself as the devil? Considering your occupation I would ordinarily agree tenaciously, but your honest candor has me questioning. I'm in NY so if "Jake" my State Farm agent rakes me over the coals for owning a BEV then I might be looking you up. Can you bundle the shanty I live in with my R1T?

That's great news. I haven't been able to find a carrier that will provide a quote without a Vehicle Identification Number or any data as to the anticipated repair and parts costs.

I'm also curious to see what Rivian's insurance program will look like. Having State Farm in their neighborhood may mean a connection to the carrier, or at least some good people who've escaped to join Rivian. Hopefully, it's the latter. I already have all the good neighbors I need.
