I picked mine 2 weeks ago from the shop and i was assigned 77xx too.I was assigned 77xx today. Considering that a lot of people are seeing 8xxx now, does that mean that mine was sitting around (and do I need to worry)? I did NOT choose from the R1T Shop.
Yes, it makes sense.... But I think this is the situation that concerns most owners when they are assigned a VIN that's significantly out of range with other current deliveries. It would go a long way to comfort owners if Rivian was forthcoming in these situations by disclosing the actual reason for the out of range VIN, but that doesn't seem to be the case and just leads to (mostly negative) speculation.Ive also personally seen fully assembled vehicles shipped out to SC's for delivery that have gotten scratched or damaged and will sit for weeks waiting for replacement parts. For example, a tailgate or wheel that was scratched.
