I just downloaded the most recent OTA update. Wow! Sport mode is now a viable driving option and feels the way I anticipated it would when i got my R1S.

Coming from a Tesla Performance Model 3 I have been very underwhelmed by the torque and acceleration. Sport mode was better but still not quite there and the suspension setting in sport made it almost undrivable.

After this recent update the truck is an absolute 0-60 beast and suspension is much more refined. Still harsh but it feels appropriately sporty.

Pretty incredible upgrade we all got for free with a download. This is the way.

Looking forward to testing it out as I got the update last night.

I see there was a lot of work on the phone integration, but really want to see messaging. I am not a huge "we have to have CarPlay/Android Auto integration" proponent. I get why it is fully proprietary, but would love to see basics that i have had since 2015ish (outside of Android Auto) be included.

That being said, software updates to improve the entire car experience regularly are VERY welcome. I am waiting for 2024 when Rivian updates the car with new cameras/CPU/etc for everyone here to be upset we will not get a retrofit kit. When you buy any other vehicle, no matter the price, you effectively get the car you bought day 1 until you sell it or it dies. Tesla set a standard in many cases here for everything runs on software in the car, thus everything can be tweaked with an update long term as a standard and expectation. When a "recall" happens, an update is sent to the car, no need to go to a service center. Just talk to ID.4 owners with their buggy software. My F150 Lightning gets some updates, but not nearly at the pace of Rivian and Tesla.

Looking forward to the continually improving experience.

I’m generally content in All-Purpose which is definitely more comfortable to me with the new update. Based on what you wrote, now I have to try Sport again! At least when I’m driving solo.

My trucks in the shop, wondering if R1T's are seeing much of a change or just the R1S who are feeling significant improvements int he driving modes.

Mine updated last night so I have no specific review. However, I agree with posters that emphasize the positives of a vehicle that has periodic updates to material functions. It may be the standard in the future, but for now it is a stark contrast to most vehicles on the road.

Jper123: are you saying the 0-60 performance has changed in time to mark or the experience on the way to 60? Just curious.

Can't wait to check it out. It installed on my vehicle yesterday at service. Rivian is busy replacing the wrong part on my truck sometime early next week I should get it back. Unfortunately my R1S will be right back in service after this repair of the charging system fails.

Difference now with EVs today is that they are sold earlier than they should be as they can be updated/fixed remotely. The tech MVP ideology has permeated into car production, and thus the expectation of early adopters is that we're getting a vehicle that can and will be improved. If you told everyone on here you can be an early adopter but nothing will get better, watch the early adoption rate plummet.
