Hi everyone. Long time Tesla early adopter here. I've purchased the Model S, X and Y. My daily driver was a Model X for almost the past 10 years and loved it but every year or so the repair bills just killed me and finally threw in the towel. I went and bought a R1S Dual Max battery today and excited to join the Rivian family.

I was told that Rivian doesn't sell the adapter for the Tesla Home Charger. Which brand do you all recommend? If you have any Amazon links for ones that you've purchased and work well I'd greatly appreciate it. Also, is the charger adapter that Rivian sells on their website the best option? I used a referral code from Leo and going to get some free credits so probably will use that for the adapter for Tesla Super Chargers but if any of you Tesla owners or former owners has any advice it would be greatly appreciated.

My husband bought the Lectron one on Amazon for his BMW i4, and it works great. I bought one from A2Z but haven't tried it yet because I don't pick up my R1S until Saturday. These were the 2 brands that I heard were reliable. Be warned though that the A2Z one took 3 weeks to arrive.

Great. Thanks for the mention of the brand. I'll look up some reviews online but figured there has to be a ton of former Tesla owners on this forum too. Or at least people that own a Tesla too. I still have a Model Y.

I’ve been using a TeslaTap Mini for about 3 years and highly recommend. Not the cheapest option but it’s well built and made in the US.

I have an A2Z and the Rivian one but have never used either. I just CCS charge. Easy-peasy, ketamine free.

The DCFC adapter that Rivian sells is made by Tesla. It works well, is compact, and is the best quality adapter comparatively. I’d say go with that one as you intend.

I have an older 50 Amp Tesla Tap. Great product. Although the website looks unprofessional, they have been around for many years and make high quality products. I think they claim to be the "original" adapter maker.

As others have stated, A2Z is a excellent source and you can't go wrong with anything they sell.

Definitely avoid the imported crap on Amazon. You don't want a melted adapter stuck to your truck. The extra cost is worth it.

welcome and congratulations. Dual max is a great combo!

A2Z and Lectron are the only two other than the official Rivian adapter that I would buy. I have links on my shop to both as well as discount codes.

I would get the Rivian adapter for supercharging, especially if you have credits. I also traded an early Model X for my R1S in July 2023, and have a 12 year old Tesla Wall Connector in my garage. I've been using the TeslaTap Mini and really like it - well made in US and compact, though more expensive than some. Bought it direct from their site - they have discount codes if you search.

Lectron Tesla to J1772 EV Charging Adapter – NACS Converter, 48 Amp & 250V

Been working great for me with my almost 7 year old Tesla wall charger.

If I was starting from scratch, I'd just get the Tesla Universal Wall Charger.

The A2Z Stellar NACS To J1772 adapter works great with my 6 year old Tesla Wall Connector to charge my R1T at 240V / 48A (the max current for my home setup). I highly recommend.
