Has anyone had good luck with a particular brand of Jack Puck Adapters? I needed to replace a tire and the local tire shop did not know how to raise the vehicle. I ended up buying a new tire from Rivian, but they told me that Jack Puck Adapters will make the car compatible with lifts at most tire shops.

I recommend checking out jackpucks.com @Mark_AZR1T , and the entire thread linked below!

I did an extensive search of jack plugs, for both my Tesla MS Plaid and Rivian vehicles, and found the Rivian Style/Jackpucks brand to be of higher quality and superior to others out there. Why? First, no "O-ring," these magnetically attach with five rare earth magnets, not four like some other offerings. They are also taller than others, so you don't have to take your jack "to the limits" to get the truck off the ground.

Here are a couple of links to my review of these winning pucks!

Thank you MiamiRiv for your question and thank you Jebinc for the amazing review!

As a Rivian owner, I created these jack pucks for my personal use, but I quickly realized other owners would also benefit from a high-quality product. It's been an amazing experience to see this proven with thousands of deliveries. I have hundreds of the magnetic jack pucks in stock and ready for immediate shipment. Please feel free to contact me directly by phone or at [email protected]. Regards, Mark.

I have a couple brands of the Rivian specific jack pucks. They really need to have 5 magnets (jackpucks.com) to have enough hold so incidental contact with your floor jack doesn't cause them to fall out. I also tried the versions with O-rings (both after-market and the OE), which work o.k., but if you are going to spend money on these, I'd seek taller ones with as many magnets as you can get.

Thank you for pointing out the importance of the number of NdFeB magnets required to generate enough energy to attach well on both the front and rear access locations. I designed NdFeB magnets for the semiconductor industry decades ago for a thin film sputtering application (physics major), so I understand the rare earth materials and how they are manufactured.

You are absolutely correct about the number of magnets! Two main factors in this. 1. Total available magnetic energy (you can spec various energy magnets). 2. Area over which this energy is spread out (number of magnets used). The Rivian hole punches through the chassis have produced uneven holes and we've found that if you can spread the energy around a greater area of the circumference, you have a better chance of maintaining a solid attachment.

We've tested the four magnet options and they are okay on the front two access port locations on the Rivians as they have two metal plates on the chassis where they attach. On the rear, its a single metal plate, so there simply isnt enough energy to reliably hold onto that location with four magnets. We know, we tried them, so for us, we decided to err on the higher side of available magnetic energy. All this tech in a piece of machined aluminum....;)

I spoke with Mark from jackpucks.com and ordered the set of four. They arrived today and look great!

I thought these Megawatt™: Pro Series Billet Jack Puck for Rivian R1T and R1S were really nifty, and I ordered a set of 4-each with a carrying case from https://electruck4x4.com/: My price was $161.50, plus shipping and tax. I really like their bell-shaped design with magnets compared to others.

Have you tried your pucks with a bottle jack?
I was wondering how deep the recess for a bottle jack is and if a safejacks extension collar (https://safejacks.com/collections/b...oducts/extension-screw-collar-for-6-ton-jacks) would make sense when using it or if it isn't deep enough to extend down the extension screw very far.
I like the idea of a puck that can be used with a bottle jack or floor jack, but I'm not sure if this would be secure on a bottle jack.

I plan to use my pucks with my 3 ton floor jack. Never felt comfortable using bottle jacks with or without pucks. Just my preference.
