Got the cargo bars via UPS today! The install was very simple most of the time was unboxing and unwrapping. However, I do believe that I have a defective latch. Three of the latches engage with a nice double click. But the fourth is really soft and does not fully seat.

Good latch:

Bad latch:

So now I am curious. The crossbars look like they have a keyable lock (just under the latch that locks the bars in place). I wonder if locking it with the key and then unlocking it again will alleviate the problem with that lock-latch closing properly?

that's a bummer. They clearly have manufacturing issues with these bars. A lot of trucks shipping without them.

Why are you suggesting a QC issue based on an accessory not shipping with the truck?

I was also wondering if lubricating or locking/ unlocking the latch a few times might help.

I was thinking the same that some trilube might free it up. But have other service needs and will just leave it to the Rivian tech.

I think so, the cargo bars are Rivian branded. But plastered with Made in China on the bottom. Also shipped from LA, guessing it's off the boat from China.

That's a good idea, will give that a shot.

Nice work @E.S.
Seriously Rivian might as well just hand over the customer support reigns to Rivian Forums things would be going much smoother by now.
