Get the app ABRP (A Better Route Planner). You can pull up the map and see stations around Tucson. There are 50 kWh stations and a few faster, some slower as well. You will have options.I’m planning a trip to Tucson in the spring and am having trouble figuring out if there is fast-charging for Rivians in Tucson. I’ll be there for a week. I’m doing a round trip from Colorado. I’m new to Rivian. Thanks for the help.
Rivians are not restricted to Rivian branded, owned or operated chargers. Any public charging network that supports CCS1 (level 3 DC fast charging) or J1772 (level 2 AC charging)r will charge a Rivian. Futhermore, you have access to select Tesla Superchargers (level 3 DC fast charging) that are open to non-Teslas (NACS-to-CCS1 adapter required).I’m planning a trip to Tucson in the spring and am having trouble figuring out if there is fast-charging for Rivians in Tucson. Your best bet is to check for yourself using plugshare, ABRP and/or the Tesla App (if you have an adapter) to locate DC fast charging.....I’m planning a trip to Tucson in the spring and am having trouble figuring out if there is fast-charging for Rivians in Tucson. Thanks! I was there last year in a Tesla Model 3 and used the supercharger on the north side but it doesn’t show up on the Rivian app, at least I haven’t figured that out. It sounds like there are a lot of good options. Getting there will be interesting. I’ve never trusted Electrify America but then again I’ve never had to use them. I’ve been spoiled by the Tesla Supercharger system. Thanks again! On the way into town coming from the north there are good EA chargers at the Tucson Premium Outlets east off the I-10 exit to Twin Peaks Rd. A few miles past that there are good newer EV Go chargers at Target east off the Ina exit, and 1 mile later are Tesla chargers east off the Orange Grove exit that work with the adapter. There are others southeast of downtown but the best are those north ones. Around town it’s mostly level 2 charging but there are a bunch; especially around downtown and the University (ChargePoint in most U parking garages). So, as said before, download PlugShare.
I just checked my Rivian app and it shows up. Check the filter button on the upper right and make sure you don't have "Adapter Needed" flipped on in the Hide section. Like you, I've stopped there in a Tesla several times, but haven't yet in a Rivian. I travel there from Phoenix and can now go there and back without charging in my R1SThanks! I have charged my R1T at the Tesla SuperChargers on Orange Grove. I think there are 16 chargers, so it is a good option (and the closest high speed DCFCs to the center of town).while researching before buying the Rivian and the Tucson one comes up as compatible in the Rivian app, ABRP, PlugShare and the Tesla app.
I have successfully used the EA chargers at Walmart in Casa Grande quite a few times. It is likely that one or more out of the four will be inoperable, but I don't recall having to wait much (if any). And I have always gotten a charge with a reasonable charge rate.I've charged in Tucson a number of times, mostly at Superchargers, but also others. I-10 between Phoenix and Tucson though is a challenge. No compatible Superchargers, and the EA stations are fucking garbage.
