Hi, Just checking in to see it is still not possible for RIVIAN to charge at a V2 Tesla SuperCharger if I have an NACS adapter.
I am visiting a remote area for a week that has a large V2 Tesla SuperCharger station, but nothing else around within a 90-minute radius.
I want to be able to take the R1S on this trip, not the Model Y.

Sometimes people figure out work around…

As far as I understand it won't ever be possible. Haven't yet seen anyone try it, but I could be wrong.

It is not possible, the V1 and V2 do not use the NACS/CCS protocol. There are stations as well, like in Indio, CA that have a mix of V2 and V3 stations where the V3 stations are not open there either. If you try to plug in they will just not work.

How about when the Rivians have the native NACS port? Would those cars work with G2?

No, they will only work on the NACS compatible stations. Same ones we have access to with the adapter. Over time they may phase out the older ones but until then there will be some not available to NACS.

Gotcha. Thanks for the clarification. So I have to just wait for Tesla to update their V2 with V3

Last weekend we pulled into a Wawa in NJ and I was pleasantly surprised to see 12 Tesla superchargers there. I figured I'd grab about 10 minutes of juice while the girls got snacks so I pulled in to an empty slot. I was pulling my A2Z out of its case when my wife let me know that she couldn't find this charger in the Tesla app. I checked PlugShare and it was indeed a Tesla-only station. So...I put the A2Z back in its case and moved to a regular parking spot. PlugShare does a great job of identifying the Tesla-only locations - You just need to use it!

When I see these unused Tesla V2 chargers in West Yellowstone - and no other DC charger that's not three hours away - it breaks my heart.

In the heart of the most popular National Park in the world. Minimal EV support. RJ and Elon should be ashamed.

In this case I think the Rivian nav also does a good job of filtering them out.

I know it does, but in this case I wasn't looking for a charger - I was looking for a bathroom and snacks and the chargers just happened to be there. It will probably never happen to me again! Usually I'm looking for the opposite when traveling: A charging station with bathrooms and food!

If the map does not show a Tesla station the station will not work. The map only shows Tesla stations that work. How would there be a work around?

This is the easiest way to locate a Supercharger you can use.

Superchargers open to other EVs are the Magic Dock stations, super Chargers open to NACS are the ones that need an adapter or NACS port.

This is the link to the page.
