They need something ugly and slow to move through the useless tunnels they dug under a few cities.

Yeah, that looks like what they said would be coming for Boring Company tunnels. That's probably the one and only prototype they made years ago, then abandoned in favor of production Tesla vehicles driven by people, rather than automated many-people-movers.
