Very nice additional option for the Rivian community! I have and love the @EV Sportline running boards and was wondering what the underside of these nerf bars looks like? If you have the original RBs, and plastic panels with those 4” holes drilled in, can those be reused with this nerf solution - or is this solution plated, like the sliders option?

Edit: Many typos corrected ?
Plastic panels get removed for this side step nerf bar - no holes needed, or if you have holes already - no problem, because the plastic comes off here.

Great, but if you have the "holy" plastic, can it be reinstalled with the nerf setup - meaning is the nerf mounting to the Rivian the same brackets and locations as the RBs? If not, would the nerf still mount correctly thru these existing RB holes, for those that still want to use the panels (w/Gorilla tape), needlessly (like I would in this scenario)?

Nope, gotta remove the plastic for the nerf bars. Holes, cutting, taping - doesn't apply here. Thanks!

I like the looks of the my original running boards better. That being said, I'm glad there's another option to help those of us with option decision paralysis!

:CWL:
Just wait for the retracting stairs option.

Is this easier to install than the running boards? Think it took me 4 hours total to install it on my former R1T. Also I would assume the running boards probably provide protection against rogue car doors.

I would say it’s easier in that you can just pull the plastic panels off and leave them off. The rest of the install is similar.
These will definitely protect against door dings

Well, I jumped in with both feet and ordered a set (to make life easier for my 5' 2" wife). I do wonder what the winter snow and ice buildup will be like here in Minnesota. I know my ford running boards gather a lot of ice.

Any update on when these will ship? Still trying to decide between these and the regular running boards :)

We are shipping! We sold out the first batch, but we'll have more this week and we'll be caught up.

I finally installed mine this week. the process was quite simple once I watched the instruction video online. The frame bolt placement on my Gen 1 R1T was one off from the video because of a bracket, but the mounting is really solid. Total process was around 3 hours with setup, install and cleanup. My 5' 2" wife is happy.

Anyone have photos of these installed and/or user feedback? Trying to decide if I like the look or not, but would like to see it on an R1 with OEM wheels - the steelies on the demo truck aren't my favorite look, and I think that's coloring my opinion on the bars.
