Plastic panels get removed for this side step nerf bar - no holes needed, or if you have holes already - no problem, because the plastic comes off here.
Great, but if you have the "holy" plastic, can it be reinstalled with the nerf setup - meaning is the nerf mounting to the Rivian the same brackets and locations as the RBs? If not, would the nerf still mount correctly thru these existing RB holes, for those that still want to use the panels (w/Gorilla tape), needlessly (like I would in this scenario)?

Just wait for the retracting stairs option.I like the looks of the my original running boards better. That being said, I'm glad there's another option to help those of us with option decision paralysis!
I would say it’s easier in that you can just pull the plastic panels off and leave them off. The rest of the install is similar.

The frame bolt placement on my Gen 1 R1T was one off from the video because of a bracket, but the mounting is really solid. Total process was around 3 hours with setup, install and cleanup. My 5' 2" wife is happy.
