As an aside, if you go off-road much, do not use nerf bars, prefer actual rock sliders in that case. Nerf bars get hung up on rocks and you won't like the result.

Does this affect the bottom battery pack and its integrity?

Love this style on my lifted truck. I don't do technical rock climbing with it so it's not an impediment to cleaning obstacles with a lift.

Do these stick out more than the running boards?

The stick out about the same, but the step sits a little lower as shown. It's just a different look, for those that love it!

Great thanks. Now I have to decide between these and the regular running boards for my R1S :)

I have the running boards and find they are a little to tall... These look to ba at a perfect height if you can accept the reduction in ground clearance.

I wish we could run the truck in all purpose high without a speed limiter these would look great on high.

I like the looks of the my original running boards better. That being said, I'm glad there's another option to help those of us with option decision paralysis!

My name is Mike, and I have a (car) problem
I had drop steps on my Tundra (they came on the build I ordered, but I forgot to de-feature them at final order sign-off ... sigh). They're great for access, especially for those under 5'5"ish, but as others have stated, do not use them if you really need your ground clearance over rocks. They will bonk in terrible and highly destructive ways.

Very nice additional option for the Rivian community! I have and love the @EV Sportline running boards and was wondering what the underside of these nerf bars looks like? If you have the original RBs, and plastic panels with those 4” holes drilled in, can those be reused with this nerf solution - or is this solution plated, like the sliders option?

Edit: Many typos corrected 🤣
