This has been a long time coming, but we're finally ready to roll out our V2.0 strap kit. We're going to offer 2 different versions, a DIY add on kit or a ready to go panel replacement. The DIY version will just require trimming down the gasket on the rear panel and installing the hardware with 4 self tapping screws. The whole process should only take 15-30 minutes and require a drill and a box cutter or razor blade. The ready to go kit will ship with 2 replacement panels and you'll just slide them in and be on your way. All new orders will receive the upgraded strap, except for B Stock orders.

Also, check out our new T Shirts, they're pretty rad.

With the ready to go kit, do you want the two panels back we didn't modify?

Maybe some sort of core charge?

Hi, Sara here. We won't need the two panels back. We would love to do something along the lines of a core charge but, we've discussed it as a team here at Interrobang and there are just too many variables to make it a possibility. The good news is, since the panels are mostly aluminum you can recycle them at your local scrap yard.

The two attached buckles shown in the photo above are a close up of a larger strap. It's a combination strap that converts between a carry strap, used to haul your tonneau cover when needed, and a pull strap, used to remove the tonneau cover when it's installed in your Rivian. When used in the pull configuration, one end attaches to the narrow gasket panel near the cab using a buckle. The other end attaches to the wide gasket panel near the tailgate, using a Snap Pull. We're working on getting the instructional videos posted but, in the meantime, we have written instructions up on the site for both the DIY install and the updated cover install with info on using your strap with the cover.

Is there a way to reduce the amount of water that gets inside? I’m getting a good amount after rain storms on my v1 cover.

Where is the water coming in from, in between the slats? On my setup, very little water makes it in after rainfall and it’s mostly from the side so everything in the middle stays relatively dry. If you’re getting a good amount of water in the middle then I would think the slats aren’t snugging up tightly and maybe some kind of a thin insulator could be leveraged.
