Got my R1T LE,LG right before Memorial Day Weekend. I needed some running boards so my 5' 0" wife could get in and out of the truck a little easier (mobility issues after a few brain surgeries). I didn't care if they were rock sliders so I chose the most economical from EVBase using Branden Flasch's discount code.
Getting those Torx bolts out was a pain until you had the right tools. Once those Torx bolts were out, it was fairly easy to install the running board hardware. Instructions were practically useless and there is a diagram that you could put the body panels back on, but no templates or measurements on where to cut the panels.
I saw from other websites and manufacturers that they had templates to cut holes into the panels to mount the hardware. I contacted EVBase to see if they had templates. They sent back a screenshot of what looked like someone holding a template but then they said that they didn't have any templates. I contacted Hansshow since they are the supplier and we went back and forth on WhatsApp. They would send me the instruction manual that I already had. I told them that I needed templates and even sent them their competitor's templates as an example. They were of no help either.
I wanted templates so I wouldn't have to go underneath the truck and eyeball it and take measurements, but that's what I was forced to do. Here are some pics of the running boards installed the end of May, my naked underside for over 2 months, and now the body panels cut and re-installed today.
