That's a really cool idea, especially for an outdoor adventure-focused vehicle.

I would buy the option. I have a handheld thermal imager, and it can help see wildlife you wouldn't otherwise...day or night. Also helpful to see roads & other features in complete darkness. I would want on demand access to the thermal view in any situation.

Looks like the Audi & Volvo use camera/NV camera & IR, but thermal would be better for human or animal detection, and be a cool feature.

I know other carmakers have struggled with pedestrian/bicyclist identification...thermal cost has already come down a lot & vehicle applications would bring it down further.

BMW has had this option as well. I've used it in the past and not something I need but I was really cool to see the deer off the side of the road in complete darkness.
