I have the same thing on my R1S since the feature came out. The latest update didn't resolve it for me. The outlets work fine, I just haven't been able to use the timer functionality.

After the update I tested the car and exactly the same problem persists.

I messaged the delivery team and let them know.

Also said that from my point of view there are three options. Since my payment to rivian was without any flaws.

1) they need to fix the issue within the next 3 days

2) if they can't fix it then I would return the car for full refund

3) they can swap it with an identical model that doesn't have this or any issue

They said they are working on it.

Let see what's happens, in the meantime its sitting on my driveway.

That's really unfortunate. I'm so sorry - I had a similar thing happen to mewith a suspension error code. Slightlyl different situation though - it started throwing the error just BEFORE they brought it out for me to inspect. So I hadn't signed final agreements. They ended up letting me choose another available vehicle from the shop - I got lucky and found an exact match. Hopefully they treat you the same.

2024.35.0 fixed my outlet timer issue.

Picked up my gen2 R1T yesterday and got that same error. Parked when I got home, got the family settled and contacted Rivian. By the time I went back out there while chatting with a rep, the error was gone and hasn’t come back.

Rivian called me and asked me to do another hard reset.

Then after it didn't work, they said that they have gotten feedback from the factory that during the body and bumper assembly it seems that they have records showing that the factory workers have been accidentally pinching the wires that connect these sensors. Since the wires are very thin, it could look visualy okay but it might be severed inside the wire insulation.

So they asked me to bring back the car back tomorrow and they will first run a sensor calibration procedure. If that fails, they said most likely it is the pinched sensor wires issue. And then said they can change the wiring easily and quickly.

So, I'll keep updating everyone.

Went on a little test drive this evening, and I thought I had noticed this, but the kneel on park function does not work.

So I selected sport mode to lower the car so other passengers could get in easier. Then when I tried putting it back into All Purpose, yet another problem shows up on the screen! The suspension broke!!!

Car said suspension broken and it's stuck in lowest height in sport mode and will not switch to any other mode!

After driving like 500ft I stopped and did a hard reset, and that fixe the issue.....here is the screen shot.

Man, this is the most buggy car I have EVER bought. A 100k+ buggy computer on wheels....and they say it's using NVDIA chips, I think it's using the Intel 13k and 14k series with that melting bug in them....

OP: I can understand how this would give you pause. Years ago, I got a BMW European Delivery. New model and drove all over Europe for 2 weeks-no issues at all. That same year a friend picked up his BMW at a dealership and was literally around the corner when the car caught fire. Sometimes it's just luck of the draw. At least Rivian is standing behind you. Enjoy your new R1 in good health.

That is awful, I am so sorry! I wonder if this is a similar issue to the vehicle I was supposed to take delivery of.

They tore apart the entire suspension and found nothing wrong. Because it's a brand new platform that's only been on sale a couple months, they weren't quite sure how to diagnose the computer side of it (what they said was the source of the issue). So they had to contact engineering.

I was told that when they bring in engineering it significantly slows down the process, because they are extremely methodical and take their time when instructing the technicians on how to proceed. When I picked up the new vehicle, they were STILL working on the original (it was 2.5 weeks at that point)

You should definitely insist they either buy back, or switch you to a different vehicle. 2025 is a BRAND new platform and you will absolutely experience some bugs (I know I have with mine). But what you're experiencing is far beyond the "bugs" that you should be seeing.

Hopefully it's an easy fix. I had a very early drive motor failure and it delayed my initial delivery so similar to yours. My truck has been trouble free in the 2 years since.
I had the same thing happen to me about 2 months after I picked it up. Not a single problem since (knock on wood)

And what does that mean? Is it still having the issue? Wasn't fixed by them? What happened lol...

I have been lucky (5k miles and counting) to have zero mechanical issues with the exception of a USB-C port that had to be re-mounted, and a small rattle.

I did end up having some damage from delivery and Rivian did everything I asked them to do to fix it (Collision shop did a poor job the first 2 times)

I have no idea how much money they spent, but they do stand by their product. It did waste a ton of my time though, and I'm still pretty peeved about it to be honest.
