Idiotic move: opened my trunk door near a tree when parked. How to fix?

Hi owners I did a dumb move today and opened my trunk door near a tree when parked. Didn’t think the hatch was high enough to hit anything but it got caught in one of the branches. The paint is a bit damaged. Any suggestions for a cheap fix? Not sure if I should rip the small piece off and use touch up paint or just glue the piece down. Either way it looks bad.

I'd file it smooth (easy because it's aluminum) and use the Rivian paint touch-up paints from the great shop. Will be good as new.

File it down with sand paper? but there is a dent/hole that the piece came off. Touch up paint doesn’t fill the hole.

Use a metal file. If the hole bothers you, you can get a bit of automotive bondo to fill it, sand it and use touch up paint.

You could also take it to a good detailing shop if you don't feel comfortable. It may be small enough where the touchup pain will fill it. I am not sure if Dr Colorchip makes touchup for Rivian but their "squirt and squeegee" system works great for touch ups.

That looks like Launch green. This is black so you might want to contact them directly to see if they have your color.

It’s the side of the trunk hatch that opens outward. I ordered limestone touch up and some bondo.
