Good morning, all!
I have a Gen 1 R1T I (73xx) and I occasionally have to use my trailer to tow things around. When you pug in a trailer, the cameras change a little bit to better accommodate towing. Specifically, the backup camera changes views to something that looks a little less polished, but in my opinion, a ton more useful (picture below).
Once I've finished my towing, I'll usually get a few more days if this camera mode before it reverts back to the 360 camera for backing up... but man, I'd love to have this tow camera all the time!
Specifically, I like that it reveals the full view of the mirror cameras pointing backwards (it'll swap to the front mirror cameras if you put it in drive too!). It's super easy to avoid curb rash when parallel parking, or to see what your front tires are going to bump if you're going forward. 360 is neat, but I sometime have trouble with the perspective warping/stitching and it makes it hard to tell how close you're actually approaching something.
Does anyone know of a way I can permanently enable the trailer-style backup cameras? That would be awesome!
Thanks,
Phil
