I love my black, but it is not a very good looking shine even after a car wash and it collects dust immediately. This is a lease so I don’t want to spend much money on it. I just want to know if there’s a recommended wax to use that will keep it nice between weekly cleans. Just looking for a very good hand wash that will keep the black looking nice.

I’m either nothing or all out. My previous experience is anything easy to apply is not going to last. You are looking for a professional ceramic coating. I did my own, paint correction and all. Overall it stays cleaner but dust does attract. Its the nature of the beast.

Flip side, if its a lease, I’d just wash it and be done.

I like Wash Wax All. Faster than getting out the hose and bucket or even pressure washer and then drying the truck. No water spots since you're not actually washing the vehicle. If your truck fits in your garage it's great to do in the dead of winter or summer, or even if it's raining.

Hybrid Solutions ceramic spray is nice and low effort, but needs to be reapplied every couple months. I can get a year out of CQuartz ceramic, but the application is much more time consuming and it's a bit more expensive, but still a long way from having a professional do it or some of the more esoteric brands.

I did gloss PPF on mine, Llumar PPF is "ceramic infused" i notice it beads like ceramic, No swirls, no was, just do a ceramic booster once in a while.

I will say…my El Cap Granite came w/ the stealth wrap. I haven’t washed it in weeks, and from 10 feet away, you can’t tell.

Sure, get up close and you can see the dirt & pollen (and I’ll be washing it this week now that it’s warm), but compared to my wife’s blue A5 (which looks dirty 5 minutes after I wash it), it’s a world of difference.

I will likely get the wrap again…especially if it’s free…

Ceramic is the way to go.... It's been 2 years since I put it on my wife's Durango and it looks as good as it did the day it left the showroom. I bought a cheap ceramic from Amazon for like $30 with excellent reviews, actually shocked how well it works and I have enough to re-coat her car. Only thing that sucks is you have to avoid most car washes...

Can you share the product with me? Also when you say avoid most car washes can you elaborate. Thanks for this.

Mud is the way to go. Get some dirt on the truck and leave it. It helps cover up the little dings and scratches you’re going to get and saves a ton of time and effort.

My name is Mike, and I have a (car) problem
For an, ahem, quickie wax, I can't recommend this stuff enough: https://www.carguysdetail.com/products/hybrid-wax

Lasts about as long as you expect, but since you were brave enough to go with a black truck (and I was insane enough to own several black cars before), figured I'd share. Great if you're up for doing a quick wax after washing.

Plus, you really don't want to be waxing weekly. Every time you interact with the paint you run risk of adding fine scratches, no matter how careful or clean you try to keep your foam pads and towels. In addition to Cerakote, Adam's has a spray-on product that claims to last longer than Cerakote's.

Skip waxes. Go straight to ceramic coating. Lasts way longer than any wax. Lots of DIY ceramic coating products out there. Cerakote has one.
Applied Cerakote yesterday. Easier to apply than wax and looks great. Even more impressive was the Cerakote trim which turned the door trim (bottom ) from a dirty streaky grey to shiny black. First time using so can’t speak to longevity and $120 for the pair.
