What does it do better than a Honda Ridgeline?

Honestly, I'm becoming increasingly surprised with each NEW model release that isn't at least Hybrid, if not full EV.

I was very surprised as well that there wasn't a hybrid or full EV version as well.

That turbo i4 is interesting as far as ICEs go though.

I love the look of it! Looks fantastic. I think if it was a hybrid or fully electric it would be hugely competitive. I do like the turbo four engine in it though

Not much probably. It does have 360 cameras which for me personally is a big advantage.
It's much smaller though. I think of it more like Subaru Baja type of vehicle.

Maybe an ICE competitor to the Rivian R2X

The Honda Ridgeline really needs to be updated. Hopefully they’ll include a hybrid or a plug-in next generation

If you look at the dimensions, it's not that much smaller. Basically the same size as the Pilot. I was surprised by that, honestly - I expected it to be Baja sized and it is most certainly not.

Baja: 193″ L x 70″ W x 64″ H
Santa Cruz: 195.7 x 75.0 x 66.7 in
Ridgeline: 210 x 79 x 71

I still think that it's closer to Baja than Ridgeline in terms of size. It also seems to me that Santa Cruz is targeting similar buyers to Baja.

More or less. It's slightly closer to a 3 row crossover.

Pilot - 197″ L x 79″ W
Telluride - 197″ L x 78″ W
XC90 - 195″ L x 79″ W
Model X - 198″ L x 79″ W

The Ridgeline absolutely larger. Other 'compact' pickups are larger too.

Ranger - 211″ L x 78″ W
Tacoma - 212-226″ L x 74-75″ W
Old Dakota CC - 219″ L x 76″ W
Old S10 CC - 204" L x 67" W

It is really weird to me too. Especially since I suspect the EV crowd and the small pickup crowd have a massive overlap.

Reminds me of an old Subaru Brat but bigger. But I thought the same thing when the Ridgeline came out. All of them are too El Camino for my taste, but to each his own.

I like it. I'd like it more if it was a BEV.
