I had 2018 Tesla Model S + 2023 Rivian R1T and just traded Model S for 2024 Model S. Telsa gave me free 10,000 miles free charging as a result of this trade but they also carried over unlimited life time free charging I had with old Model S to new Model S along with FSD so I really can't use the 10,000 miles. I then opened the Tesla app and it's asking me if I want to use that 10,000 miles on my R1T. So it looks like Tesla is allowing me to use the 10,000 miles free charging on my R1T at Tesla super charger stations but the plug won't work until Rivian sends me the adaptor. The 10,000 miles free charging is good for one year so depends on when Rivian sends me the adaptor I may not be able to use the miles. Should I go ahead and buy the third party adaptor?

There have been a ton of good reviews and tests on A2Z and Lectron. I got the A2Z and it will be here on Tuesday. I would not hesitate buying either brand. There is already a good amount of EV owners with those adapters without issue. They are dedicated to making quality adapters and are even working with auto makers and regulators to certify their NACS adapter (when the certifications actually come out for NACS-CCS). A2Z’s customer service is amazing! Call them up and you will be convinced.

I think it’s going to take far too long to get the Tesla adapter. Although, if you want to wait and risk losing your 10,000 free miles…can I be first in line to use them for you? Haha.

Yes! Buy the adapter! Especially if you use superchargers

Before we got our R1T we had a Volvo XC40 Recharge and it came with 250kW of free charging (EA) which amounted to about 3-1/2 full charges. When we sold the car back to the dealer (long story.....crappy car), we sill had 80kW left on EA but can't use it because it is attached to the Volvo VIN. I did try to charge a few weeks ago and it didn't take from that amount.

Any updates on whether you were able to apply your free supercharging miles to the Rivian?

I have some Tesla referral points that will expire and the only thing left I would consider redeeming for is 500 supercharging miles (other options are some stupid t-shirts not in our sizes or wall connector face plate) but my '18 Model X has free supercharging for life.

I'm hoping I can use these 500 miles on our R1T but want to know for sure before I redeem my points for them.
