How many KW is the new dual motor max pack?

How many KW is the new max pack?

If Large does 350 miles and you will get 400, that suggests 154kw as a math problem.

The modules from in 15kw sizes so it's either 135+15 (150)) or 135+30 (165).

They could of course do something else new.

Thoughts?

I think you meant kWh. Also the number to compare would be 328 miles vs 400+

Large packs are 7776 cells with each cell being 4800 mAh. Max pack is likely 9504 cells. Could be 4800 mAh cells but 5000 mAh cells are becoming common too, so it's possible they are bumping up the capacity that way too.

Max pack was supposed to be 180kwh when they declared first. You can't just compare the battery size with range since larger battery also means more weight to move.

They have already indicated the large pack with dual motors will get 350 MI so that's the number to compare against when thinking of dual motor Max pack at 400

So possibly it's one module then with more dense cells which gives me the extra little umph to make the math work. Two modules is too much.

Definitely not going to be 180. If it is though I suspect they will see 430 to 450 mi of range.

The would be 165kwh with no density changes. Would be firmly 400+++ miles.

Question:. Can the r1s hold the same 9504?

Dual motor in-house design is expected to be more efficient than quad-motor Bosch. Battery size, weight..? More!

We already have much of that data removed they claim the in house is 350 miles on 135kwh

Rivian just says 400+, there isn’t an EPA estimate yet. Before any deliveries the large pack was listed at 300+ and it turned out to be 328 or something from the EPA. So I don’t think 9504 cells would be sandbagging.

I guess, they were very specific in the past and I'd think they'd want the positive sales from 420+ vs. 400+ Even with the R1s they dropped the number to 390, which is fairly specific.

I'd bet that it's the same number of modules, but higher density since it fits in the R1S.
