Like several of you, Rivian won't do warranty work on my truck. For those of you that actually allowed Rivian to uninstall them, what was the experience? Did they give you all the extra bolts? Did they replace the factory bolts that had locktite?

My truck is sitting at the Houston service center in need of new half shafts and they won't lift it. Weird they didn't care when it was in for the tire rotation and they put it on the same lift to do it.

Unless you destroyed the threading or head, you can reuse those screws
So I have the EV sportline Maxx sliders with the aero covers, there's a few extra bolts where they come together.

I delved into this problem with my local, Denver, SC.. When a mobile service was out to work on my truck.

What I found was interesting.

The Pucks that Rivian Shops and Mobile Service uses are HUGE. Like monstrously huge! The head, and pin, are about the same size. The shaft is shorter. But the cup that fits onto the lift, or jack, is where the difference was.

I did not have a tape measure to measure it, but I did have 5 of the magnetic type of pucks from MagJaxx I think.. I think the bottom cup was around 10-12 inchs across, maybe more. It was just HUGE.

All 5 of the MagJaxx pucks would fit into 1 of the Rivian Shop Pucks, with space still available.

This is why they will not work on a truck with running boards. Their pucks wont fit, and would damage the running boards if they tried. Them being shorter on the shaft, and so much larger on the "cup" end.

Maybe if someone has a mobile service scheduled, they can ask, and snap a pic. I did not even think about it, until just now.

I have the EV Sportline Rock Sliders on my R1T. I just had my R1T in the SC for warranty work. They replaced the joist lines and front dampeners. They made no mention of my rock sliders .. and I was charged nothing for the warranty work.

This is an important point. Actual rock sliders can support the weight of the vehicle and can be used as jack points, where running boards cannot.

According to Rivian? I think not.

I agree, the Rivian is too heavy. A rock slider may save some under skin, but wont safely lift/hold a vehicle.

Ins. compaines require products of safety to be listed as such in a specific application.

Twice a year I swap summer/winter tires by jacking up 1 entire side of my R1T (DM Max) using the DCE-Weistec rock sliders and have yet to have any sort of problem. They seem to be pretty rugged and I’ve not noticed any bending or flexing the of the sliders.

That’s not the point. The question is: Who’s liable if your truck is damaged while Rivian is servicing the underbelly?

But you dont climb under the vehicle yourself and have legal liability of anyone else suing you as an employee because you are a deep pockets corp. It is likely a liability issue.
Your rock sliders are likely something I would use doing what you are doing, just changing tires. I actually bought 2 rims to have a couple offroad tires, but I have 21" and the Defenders are good all year around, and only option anyway.

I will be surprised of Rivian will uninstall the aftermarket RMaxx sliders so they can work on your truck.

I also have the RMaxx sliders and am ready to uninstall them if Rivian SC need them to be off to do work on my R1S.

Keep us posted if they uninstall the sliders for you.
