Popped my cherry on my first service call.
Got in the R1T at the end of work day to see an error picture of the Frunk on the main dash. Looking at the error message icon in the top left of the infotainment screen shows "Hood latch not working" with an image and message to get service immediately.
Opened a ticket with the app and called immediately after to ensure it was safe to drive the truck - didn't want the hood flying up off the car.
After some troubleshooting with support, seems like the latch is mostly working, but error still shows up. Waiting to be contacted further.
The support person on the phone had me hit the escape button to see if that would reset. Also shared some pictures after lifting off the plastic piece above the headlights / light bar. It is a plastic piece held with strong magnets and comes off easily - at the left and right side of long front plastic piece are areas for it to slide on each side to add secure holding in addition to the magnets.
The latch looks like it has a question mark shaped metal which does the 'latching'. The question mark is rotated 90 degrees clockwise. The long rectangular 'hook' on the hood pushes the longer part of the question mark down, which rotates the hook part of question mark metal on to the rectangular hook of the hood.
At first, it seemed that maybe the question mark wasn't supposed to be there when the frunk is fully opened, but everything seems to sit pretty well when closed, but could potentially be a bit tighter.
Also, Alexa in the truck is unable to connect to the Internet - so Alexa isn't working either. (even after reseting the UI.) If I sign out of Alexa and sign back in, Alexa will work until I stop driving/lock the vehicle. Once I unlock and get back in to the truck, Alexa tells me it can't connect to the Internet. Full home wireless signal and full LTE signal doesn't make a difference.
