Just curious if anyone has been contacted by Rivian yet to have their powered tonneau cover replaced with the updated version? The last email I received on 10/13 stated....

"Our Service Team will begin reaching out to owners with existing service tickets next week, with installations starting later this month. We will be reaching out to schedule appointments on a rolling basis, not all at once."

Thanks in advance!

They said they would start installations in November, so I wouldn't start to worry that you haven't heard anything until at least June or July of next year at the current rate. You'll probably have it done by November 2024.

I got the same email on 10/13/23. Crickets ever since. Glad you started this thread as it would be nice to hear if at least one person has been scheduled for the PTC replacement. My one year anniversary of my delivery with a DOA PTC is tomorrow. Would love to have a working one.

There was a comment on Reddit that someone having unrelated service done was told an updated tonneau installation was being performed.

Of course, I cannot find that comment now and the actual truck owner did not post about the replacement, so consider it hearsay.

Scheduled my service appt for PTC replacement back on 9/30 the day mine crapped out despite indoor storage, light use, and more cleaning and dry lube than a Saturday night hooker. Just used the app to schedule service appt.

Called Rivian service last week to reconfirm and was told PTC replacement parts were available at Rivian HQ but had yet to be delivered to RSC's. Reminded them I was only interested in replacement PTC, not interested in coming into RSC for disabling broken tonneau which I did myself given delay to schedule service appt.

Again called Rivian yesterday and took 40 minutes and three different departments of on-hold time to reconfirm whether replacement PTC parts were available at Denver RSC for schedule 11/9 - of course they did not know and would call me later. That didn't happen.

Soooo, went into Denver RSC this morning to learn what I already expected - the replacement powered tonneau has not been delivered to RSC's yet, and will likely land in the field sometime in January.

My apologies, this note seems to have taken upon the same bloviating style and no-conclusion Rivianese as has been put upon us by Tony these many months and years.

I have said it before and I will say it again....Rivian should be extending the warranty on PTC's. Many have and are living without during a significant period of ownership and as a minimum....extended warranty would be a class act on their part.

And no...I am not entitled to anything....it wasn't in my purchase agreement...I know I am an early adopter....I know Rivian is a start-up....

And yes....mine works....and it seems to work good, although noisy like it might not work forever. I am spreaking to how a company should behave in a case like this....to keep customers around.

Just very puzzling why they make these announcements then do not follow through. I'm fine waiting however long if you can just set proper expectations. Otherwise it just feels like we are being jerked around. I will have had my R1T two years in March. For about 4 months of that time I had a normal working PTC.

Mine was broke when they delivered the truck July 1, 2022. I have an IOU form saying it will be fixed in 2 weeks. Never heard a peep. Nearly 50,000 miles later still no attempt to fix it. I'm 35 miles as a bird flies from Normal. I call every week since that email, and parts are not in Normal, IL either. I will believe one has been fixed anywhere when they show it on youtube. Rivian has lots of room for communication improvement. Totally unprofessional.

I'm guessing this will be moved down the priority list given the most recent OTA update.

I agree across the board!! I just did preventative maintenance on mine today. It's a bit soothing to me (haha).

My name is Mike, and I have a (car) problem
I actually got a phone call letting me know to hang tight and with no other terribly helpful information. But it was nice that they called me.

Have SC appt in a week to get a seat squeak fixed, maybe I’ll hear more then.
