Very interesting!
Thanks for posting. I have the same configuration but in socal and oct/Dec delivery.
I was hoping to see some deliveries with FE, but none so far!
Maybe it's a one off exception, but guide calling and offering a BM does not sound encouraging!
I am November ‘19 R1S preorder and taking delivery today. I have Black (BM) interior and it seems like almost all getting vehicles do. If you want it now and are ok with black then it seems like you should switch in your config to black. This is typical of a production ramp especially when publicly traded and delivery numbers are everything for the stock price.

my expertise was about 2 weeks from getting an email and guide contact I got the delivery date. Much faster than I expected after almost 3 years of waiting.
That's awesome, congrats! Please post pics and let us know about your experience.

FE is worth the wait. If that's what you want, I'd wait for it. I'm sure they will do a run of them soon. That's what happened with the R1T. I got mine in the 4500 bunch with a lot of other people.

Hi all, I am awaiting delivery of my R1S. finished all of the steps short of paying. Everything is a go. What's perplexing to me is my guide told me 6-8 weeks on delivery. Yet I'm reading on the forum that many are getting delivery much sooner than that. Is there a way to reach out to the service center to see if your vehicle is there, and if so, ask them if you can take delivery sooner. I am going out of the country on 9/29 and if my S is there, I'd like to bring it home. Any suggestions?

They said the same thing (6-8 weeks) to me. After meeting the the delivery specialist today I think they are just drinking from a fire hose trying to get vehicles out the door. He said it was his 3rd R1S delivery.

If you get a notice that your charger ships you will be getting it s00n!

The R1S came on a Rivian flatbed and the delivery specialist showed up an hour early. It was a great experience and the R1S is great!

All panel alignment and everything looked good with the exception of the rear hatch which seems a bit off at the top. See photo.

major first impression is that I can’t believe how this thing corners for a truck on 33” AT tires!!!!

That can easily be fixed whenever vehicle is at service center.....

When you see the videos of the supposed QA people going over the finished vehicle, you would just assume that above picture couldn't happen or if it was so easy to fix then they'd do it right then and there. It seems like a Tesla move to just get them out the door and let the people make service appointments or hope they don't.

They are looking for people like me, I’d probably ignore that…. 😁

Interesting... So far most of the R1S deliveries neither have FE interior nor 21' wheels
same as the first deliveries of the R1T

Glad to hear that on FE. I told my guide today that I plan to wait for my config. It’s been 3+yrs, so what‘s a few more weeks. At least I hope that’s all it will be.

Rivian R1S Launch Edition
My guide also called me yesterday to offer me alternate R1S configs that were ready to ship from the factory. There was a Rivian Blue with everything else the same as my config, but I’m glad I didn’t bite. Because my original config VIN was assigned less than 24 hours later. Definitely part of the end of quarter push, and good signs as far as ramping up.

Same-same for me. We danced all around what options I would be flexible on. Turned out the ONLY relevant variable is interior. I said anything but BM. He said they’re going to push out my window.

I haven’t taken delivery of mine yet, but it’s been sitting at the SC for three weeks and one of the issues they identified to correct was the same rear hatch alignment on the passenger side. They have fixed several other items already but that one was still on the car yesterday.
Happy for you that you have yours!!

Curious did they all have the under body shield?

I think I saw one person get a vin without it but seems like not Having the shield is a delay.

Did anyone without the shield have an August/September date?

Mine has underbody and i asked my guide and he said it would delay if I changed it. So if you want it soon I would spec the underbody shield….

Drove the truck some today and the suspension handling is just unreal! You can’t explain how little body roll there is on a truck with 33” AT tires!

Cooled seats are better than 2021 GMC Yukon Denali….

I love the launch green color.

I don’t love how the 2nd row seats fold (the headrests dont move so you have to move the front seats forward)….

Thanks,

I’m not going to make any changes, I’ll hold for my October/December window.

If they offer me one with a shield I’ll take it, only things I do not want to change is paint and interior (El Cap/BM), shield and wheels I can be flexible with but prefer the 22s.
