Would really like to see Rivian partner with GFC. Yakimas great and all, but Go Fast Campers seems to fit the Rivian mold so much better. Low profile; w/ added topper storage; adventure vehicle focused.

Doesn't look like partnering is necessary. As soon as Rivians are on the road they (Gofast) will (probably) make them available for the R1T. I don't think Rivian is giving us any kind of price break on the Yakima.

It is nicer, I think, than the Yakima, but $6,950 base is getting pretty steep.

If I Undertand the platform correctly, you sleep in the truck bed and the R1T bed is just over 4 feet long…. So, you have to be pretty short to use it no?

It's a platform camper tent, so you sleep on a raised, 90" long platform above the truck bed with camper sides. It's very well built and reasonably light, for what it is. In correspondence with GoFast, they're looking forward to working with someone with an R1T for prototyping.

As nice as it sounds, that price is almost equal to the cost of the Yakima Rooftop Tent and the Camp Kitchen, combined. That's especially true when the RTT comes with a set of the rails.

Still, it's intriguing.

Can't wait to strap my GFC Superlite onto my R1T. 2023 can't come fast enough!

A go fast camper type unit that attaches to the crossbar mounting points on the bed rails would be pretty slick

That's exactly what the Superlite does! Unfortunately due to supply chain issues they are not currently taking more orders.

They make one that latches on like the crossbars do already??

Which cameras would it block other than the gear guard one for the bed?

If that’s it… not bad… but now what about All the control buttons on the bed?

I've traded a few emails with Go Fast Campers, they're looking into it. (I'm obviously interested, see my avatar ?). They're aware of the complicating factors (bed rail buttons, unibody construction, sharkfin antenna, spoiler, no accessory rail in the bed) and seem confident they're well within their abilities.

Sounds like they're waiting on early deliveries in their area but failing that, I've volunteered my March/April delivery for measurements.

It's more expensive than the RTT, but has a few major advantages - you can stand up in the bed even in the elements (so you can change, make coffee, whataever), you can still use the bed as a bed with the tent on, you can mount things like awnings and solar to it. The biggest drawbacks are increased cost, drag, and it's semi-permanent (removable but needs a hoist and requires re-sealing to the bed rails every time).

For me this is a good option to make the R1T feasible for camping at ski areas and on extended road trips (and I can keep the dog crated below the tent), without investing in a full trailer.

The buttons are ahead of and behind the mounting points, if they can’t design around that then I’d be wary of buying anything from them. ?
