I’m sharing this a few places, hopefully it’ll help future GFC Rivian owners.

Wiring the rear brake light:

Step one
Remove the rear seat bench
it is held in with two 15mm bolts under the headrests, on bolt on the bottom middle (15mm ) and one nut centered under each passenger back area (15mm as well)

IMG_1879.jpeg

don’t forget to unplug the two white plugs behind the seats.
Once removed, pull the small kick/ sill plate from the driver side floor
IMG_1885.jpeg

peel up the next two trim pieces, the dark grey going up the side and the lower headliner piece that matches your interior and has the seat belt passing through

In the loom locate the plain green and plain black wire (black wire is smaller 22awg)

IMG_1874.jpeg

verify it is the plain green and not the stopped green

this is the chsml pair

I tapped into the wires using a positap
Highly recommend
You can get them at O’Reilly or Amazon

IMG_1873.jpeg

In the truck bed remove the rear plastic panel it is held in with 8 M6 (10mm socket) bolts that are hidden under the plastic circles

once pulled you can see the tonneau stack if you have it and a few grommets

I don’t have a tonneau so I used the higher location to not have to fiddle with the sliding over the gear tunnel

IMG_1880.jpeg

you can use the lower grommet and fish any wire around the felt of the gear tunnel and out the space behind the passenger seat

Drill a hole in the plastic piece in the location of you liking, or figure out a seam to tuck the wires through if you are nervous about drilling

I don’t like pinching wires so I went the hole drilling route and will use a weatherproof mini box as I have other cables using this area to run power

IMG_1881.jpeg

hook up the lights to the provided pigtail (gfc came with some positaps, which I moved to the splice location, and then used the twist connectors to connect the short length of jump wire needed

IMG_1884.jpeg

that’s it!
It works

IMG_1875.jpeg

No extra sensors or modules to burn out
No false trigger of trailer mode
No issues with turn signal behavior

it just works.
Incredible. Thanks for sharing!

In a previous post I estimated the range loss with the GFC V2Pro installed at "maybe 10%".
Now having driven 1,300 miles since the installation, I can reliably say that the measured range loss is 9%.
This is expected, but even so, I find it remarkable! I am delighted. Thank you, GFC.

Does any anybody else’s camera window look like this? It looks like it was cleaned with a dirty rag that put a bunch of swirl marks on it. Unfortunately my camera focuses on the scratches and it’s starting to bug me.

When they were installing mine they noticed the same thing and decided to switch it out with a new piece. Apparently the locktite was causing issues with the glass or acrylic. I’d ask them to send you a new piece to install.

I submitted a service request. Just waiting for a response.

Anyone from the front range made the trip to Belgrade for theirs yet? I am headed up in a couple weeks and was curious about your charging experience around Sheridan WY. ABRP has me charging at a 1 stalk 50kw charge point there. Theirs is a Tesla SC in Sheridan but I think it much be an earlier gen that isn’t compatible for the Rivians. Concerned it will be close if temps are low and if I have had to put the snow tires on by then.

Any observed impact to the range with the topper? Is the inside height the same between the topper and the camper?

It
And here's a photo dump of a prototype topper we just installed on Jonny Lieberman's truck. As with Ben Moon and the camper, Jonny's helping us refine a bunch of details. So don't look too terribly closely at these photos.

We'll have a timeline on topper very soon.

Oh, and here's some footage of the tonneau cover working. The topper (or camper), plus tonneau really turns the lower half of the bed into a very secure vault.

Looking great. Any observed impact to mileage? What will be the insight height and is it the same as the camper?

Topper has slightly less vertical height inside, so the top sits flush with the rear of the cab. Call it two inches. Range impact is negligible, well below variables in conditions and driver behavior.

Can you guys provide approx headroom measurements inside the camper on the production version and the height from the sides when in cabana mode at the standard suspension height. Thanks

I'll get exact measurements later this week. Head room inside camper is ~8 feet.

Ok, topper measures 36 inches vertical from top of truck bed rib to ceiling. Camper is 39 inches. Our R1T is parked at LAX right now, but we'll measure clearance under open panels with customer installs this week.
