Interesting update. I wonder if they/when they plan to start working on this. I have pre-order reservation which was scheduled for December (now January?).GFC told me a few weeks ago that they have not started on the topper at all and have no timeline.
I have a preorder for a topper that was originally in the August delivery window. I guess now we are just in limbo. Team_GFC, any update on the topper schedule?Interesting update. Anyone else have a pre-order for a Topper?
Did I finally leap frog you in cool Rivian shit?!I'm #2, #39970 at 11:52 am Unfortunately I had to pause on this install, I burned too much goodwill buying a trailer last year since it didn't look like any campers were coming to market. I'm still hoping I can get a GFC but I'll watch y'all shake the bugs out first
Very interested to see how the brake light (CHMSL) install works on the Rivian, I know GFC won't do it for you and I'm not sure I've seen anyone tap into those on the R1T yet - hope it's not too invasive.
Okay boys and girls. After 2300 miles, I officially have a GFC camper. AMA and I'll do my best.
I'm taking off from San Jose tomorrow to pickup mine. How was the charging along the route? Gets kind of slim pickings after Elko, NV, but you made it so I'll hope for the same results.Okay boys and girls. After 2300 miles, I officially have a GFC camper. AMA and I'll do my best.
Wind noise is not bad actually. You can tell it's there. Kind of similar to having crossbars. The wind noise from the side mirror is far louder. It could also be that it's behind you so you can't hear it as much.Congrats! I’m there next week to pick up mine!
How’s the wind noise?
I saw their instagram story this morning with tailgate button on the outside. How do they handle the power tonneau button? I don’t remember them asking me if I had one!

There are two buttons side by side appropriately marked for the tonneau and tailgate. I was not asked if I had one either, but during install they should have whichever button is needed.
I came from San Jose too! You are correct about after Elko. I charged up to 90% there at the EA and made it to the Burley, ID RAN just fine. From there all that's needed is to top off in Idaho falls and smooth sailing. I had to do the EA charging shuffle to find one with consistent speed but there were not many EV's in the area so I had the stations to myself. Also after Elko I was mainly in conserve mode.I'm taking off from San Jose tomorrow to pickup mine. How was the charging along the route? Do you have the brake light hooked up? If not, did they have any directions/indications on how to do so, or are you totally on your own?Okay boys and girls. After 2300 miles, I officially have a GFC camper. AMA and I'll do my best.
They did not hook up the brake light or provide guidance. I don't believe they do this for any of the installs due to liability. I don't plan on ever connecting it unless someone figures out where to tap. I might even remove it completely so it's not seen as a "broken light".Looks great!
Did they hook up the brake light for you or provide any guidance? What about the interior lights? Just plugged into the bed outlets?
Bummer. Not surprised by the brake light. At some point they had chimed in on this thread (or maybe it was an instagram comment) that the lights would be a direct connection to the bed, but they probably were thinking the bed had 12 volt like the gear tunnel and frunk. I'll just a battery pack too. They did not hook up the brake light or provide guidance. I don't believe they do this for any of the installs due to liability. The pigtail for the light is your standard round cigarette style plug so it can't plug into the bed outlet. I plan on replacing the plug with something smaller and running a small external similar to the one they sell.
