A few months ago, I made an appointment at the Gaithersburg Service Center. About a week ago, someone called an asked if I would like to go to the Glen Burnie Service Center instead, and I enthusiastically accepted their offer, since Glen Burnie is about half of the distance that Gaithersburg is from my house.
I arrived this morning, wondering if they were in fact open, because there was not a single Rivian vehicle in the whole lot, very much unlike Gaithersburg. I was greeted by Anna, who said that I was their very first customer! Of course, my truck went back almost immediately. It was done in about 2 hours.
I asked Trey, one of the managers, if they planned to offer mobile service out of that location. He said they did, but they were waiting on some of their mobile service vehicles to arrive. Almost on cue, a flat bed trailed pulled up with two brand new mobile service vans aboard. They were quickly unloaded and taken inside to charge.
I asked Trey if anyone could call and schedule an appointment at the Glen Burnie location. He said that Rivian is initially only offering appointments there to customers who already have an appointment at the Gaithersburg Service Center, but who live closer to Glen Burnie. They're trying to relieve some of the burden on Gaithersburg.
I'm so glad that Rivian now has another service center location open. Gaithersburg seems to be overwhelmed, so hopefully this location will help to relieve the backup so many of us are experiencing trying to get service.
Trey and Anna were great! I didn't get to meet Brett, who is buying a house today, but he helped to get me scheduled there. Thanks to all at the new Glen Burnie Service Center who made my service visit fast and easy!
