I've seen both in person. Both pre-production units (only 2 exist) have all glass electro-chromatic roof option installed. Recently revealed at the Overland Expo, there will be a removable roof option for the R1T! No other word on sun/moon roof options, but the current all glass roof (as shown above) does not open.I have yet to see any reference in an article or video that mentions or shows that the glass roof can open, for either the R1S or R1T. From looking at some R1T pics the glass (sun?) roof "might" be able to pop-up, but it's very hard to tell. As for the R1S, I doubt it but that's not to say Rivian hasn't come up with a clever way to do it. Perhaps forum members who have seen either EAV in person at a Rivian attended event might have some insights.
FWIW, Rivian will be offering 4 types of roofs. Solid and fixed (standard), glass, removable panels, and the electrochromatic. I was told at the public event in Normal, IL this past Sunday that all four roof features/options will be available for both the R1T and R1S. Also, the removable panels will fit in the gear tunnel (R1T) or cargo area (R1S).I for one am bummed the glass roof is fixed.
