Heya, can anyone with a gen2 R1T check quickly to see if the rear headrests are supposed to be adjustable?

One of mine is higher than the other, has riser rails as well as the thumb unlock toggle on the base.

The other one seems locked in place and there's no way to reach underit to unlock it.

Just trying to figure out which it's supposed to be.

Everything is moveable if you pull on it hard enough

So, I went and looked. There is a standard release on both rear headrests, but I cannot physically move the headrest while pushing the release and am not sure how much force would be needed to do so. It's also 15 degrees out so I gave up fairly quickly lol

Thank you folks. Based on your reports, I went out and messed around with it more. It seems my left headrest just wasn't pushed fully in at the factory, and was loose. So, combined with the standard release latch, it seemed adjustable.

But there are no locking teeth along the rail, except for the very top. So if I push the headrest down very hard, it clicks into place at that top tooth, permanently, unless you have something like the tool dradam links to.

You may need the tool because are actually TWO releases, one against each rail. The left rail has the standard, raised, thumb-button we've seen on all cars. The right rail has a smaller, countersunk/recessed release that is harder to reach with the headrest fully seated. You have to push down on both to get the headrest to pop out. But if you do that, it comes right out, and you can get a tad more rear visibility out the window (I guess) :)

Thanks again, this little detail was throwing me for a loop at first.

I'm the guy who designed the head restraint removal tool. If you can't print it yourself I print them and sell them. $25 includes shipping. DM me and I can fix you up. :)
Thanks for your design. I love watching what you come up with in printables.

Thanks. Here's something I'll be posting about in a few days. It's a way to have the armrest console organizer lift up and slide back using just one hand. I've been using one in my R1S for almost a year. It's a bit more involved than the headrest tool :)
