I was happy with the charging speeds I got at all the fast charging locations in that one day when I went San Jose to LA and returned the same day.
R1T Gen2 Dual Max Nov built (delivery in Dec). System version: 2024.51.31.
Temp was nice 50-75deg throughout the day.
Was carrying hitch carrier with motorcycle, so my avg consumption was 2miles/kwh, hence had to stop more often for charging. All my charging stops were pre-scheduled by navigation so Rivian had plenty of time to warm up the battery. The battery was slowly warming up - from low 60s to mid 90s when I got to charging. By the time charging was done, battery temp was close to 120F, and steadily declined as I was driving away.
Overall, quite happy (relieved to be honest) with my charging speeds. I had one Gen2 Dual Max R1T owner from Oakland charging with me at same time in Buttonwillow Rivian in the morning, similar pre-condition time, had fluctuating charge rate (dropping from 130kW down to 100kW before picking up to 160kW ish). He said he never saw 199kW rate, ever. His was a September build Gen2. My truck was able to sustain 190+kW rate until into 65-70% SoC, then dropping to ~145kW and then to 120kW rates close to 75-80% rate when I disconnect and drive - as by then, I am done with my restroom & snack/lunch/dinner break.
