For what it is worth, I upgraded to the new Goodyear Wrangler Rivian specific tires using my 20" Atomic Wheels set up, and they have been great! Same efficiency as the 21s, and only negligible noise increase (a decibel or two). Would recommend.
Hey! Thanks for the shout-out, we’re glad you liked them and that everything’s going well with our wheels.

I was at a new Service Center in NY and asked about the new 22" Range wheels availability and was told that they would not clear the brakes on Gen1 vehicles. Maybe the brake calipers are smaller on Gen2?

I was really looking forward to slapping these wheels on my Gen1 R1T.

Yep, I was at the SD Space and they told me that gen2 long range tires are not compatible with gen1 vehicles. This confirms it. Which really sucks, because I really wanted these on my gen1.

Have you gotten your hands on any of the new "Gen2" wheels to measure and compare to "Gen1"?

Personally, I doubt there's a clearance difference such that they can't switch between versions. I'm leaning towards they don't want to program Gen1 software to show those wheels.

One way to settle this for good. Find and get together with someone local and do a test fit, front and rear. If it's an offset or caliper clearance issue, that could potentially be solved with hub spacers—as long as it doesn't take more than 5 mm, beyond which longer studs may be needed or there's too much poke to cause tire rubbing.

It could also simply be that Rivian wants those wheels to be exclusive to Gen2 as a way of differentiation. So no compatibility issues, they are just not willing to do it. Don’t want that to be true though.

As one of the designers of this tire, I am glad to hear the new Goodyears are treating you well!

Which Goodyear AT would you recommend? in 275/65R20.

All of Goodyear's 275/65R20 tires are good options, but I would highly recommend the Rivian specific 275/60R20 Territory AT.
Once Rivian allows user configurable tire size, it will be on my radar. Currently my 65 series short list is: Wrangler Trailrunner AT (53 lbs), Toyo OC AT3 EV (55 lbs) and Firestone Destination XT (52 lbs).

It's inevitable that someone will try it out soon enough. I'm sure one of the wheel/tire companies will buy a rim and test it out.

I'd be surprised if it didn't fit though. Probably just something Rivian doesn't want to sell to older models.

This. Also the Nokian nAT tires.

On my third Gen 4runner I swapped the bigger rotors and calipers from the tundra to it. They bolt up but the 16" wheel on the tundra was shaped just a little bit different which cleared the cross passage between the pistons.

I clearanced the passage a bit with a grinder. So someone is going to have to verify manually if there are some sort of changes Rivian made.

I spoke with a tech very recently when he was here for a mobile service. Tech indicated same... incompatible with Gen1...no additional details.

Assuming offset and everything else is the same or very similar my guess it's the option isn't there in the Gen1 software so that makes it "incompatible".

Can't wait for the Gen2 wheels to hit aftermarket and a Gen1 to put them on. SCs minds will be 🤯
