I'm noticing the below after a recent trip to the Service Center.

After I lock the vehicle with my key fob, the gear tunnel doors and frunk are able to be opened using their respective buttons on the body of the truck. The door handles remained locked. The tailgate and tonneau cover also remain locked. I discovered this purely by accident.

I have proximity enabled for my phone, but not my key fob. My phone was (of course :)) with me when I noticed this.

The service center claims that this is expected behavior when a proximity-enabled device is nearby. Is this really expected, and is there any mention of this behavior in the manual? I can't be the first one to run into this, so I hope the great hive mind here can be of help unravel this mystery for me.

Sounds plausible. Can't exactly say since I disabled proximity on my phone. A couple reasons for this. I carry my phone when working in proximity to my parked truck and don't need it to lock and unlock constantly. I also (early on, spring 2022) had some issues with not being comfortable with proximity locking/unlocking in parking lots...felt that it was locking/unlocking at too far a distance. Fob works for me. Do have proximity working on the fob and seems to be better than a couple years ago in terms of distance/locking/unlocking. Still close it in parking lots with the fob...depends on where you are parking, I suppose.

Mine behaves exactly the same. Move your phone and fob to another location and you will see different behavior.
