Gen 2 R1S/R1T sunglass storage, no longer on passenger side?

The underseat tray, on my '22 R1T it had the sunglass/etc. storage on both front passenger and drivers seats.

My '25 R1S only has it on the drivers side.

Is that right? Just wanted to make sure I didnt catch some weird error.

Yep. That's where the 12v lives now.

They removed in from November gen2 builds onwards - possibly for the 12v battery but more likely cost saving. It's not there in our TriMax - but is in our friends earlier gen2.

My gen 2 has it on both sides (August '24 build). The 12v and the sunglasses holder can co-exist. They removed it for cost savings.

That said, I was under the impression that ascend trim still had it. But OP has ascend so... Maybe it's all of gen 2?

It's not there in the Dune either. Just noticed that when looking at one last week.

Really bad decision. It was pretty important to have that storage for the passenger since there is no glovebox.

I wonder how high the ladder a decision to remove items people love has to go. I suspect this was an item that looked great at the cost cutting Monday morning all hands meeting, but missed the Big Picture.
