For those who have taken delivery of the gen 2 dual motor with large battery pack, how has your ownership experience been? I’ve seen a couple posts regarding motor issues, software issues, etc… Figured it isn’t a wide spread issue or it would be more discussed?

2025 Rivian R1T - Large. Delivered on November 23, 2024.

I have about 1,200 miles on my R1T-Large. The only hiccough (nit) I've hit a few times so far is where the driver assist goes offline (I get the warning light), but parking and walking away (to lock) and coming back seems to reset it. It happened with some frequency prior to the software upgrade, none since.

Otherwise, it's been pretty much flawless and the vehicle has been an enjoyable experience.

I do have some... apprehension... I've seen a lot of posts recently about catastrophic failures with the Rivian, but they seem to be related to early adopters of the latest technologies to come out (Tri-motor/Max). I've not seen any issues posted with the Large/Dual motor build. We went with the LARGE battery on a standard, dual motor build - our mindset when we reserved / built our R1T (never had an EV before), though 2nd Gen, this build was comprised of motor and battery technology that had been proven.

Thank you for creating this thread; I will keep watching it.

I’ve had mine just over 2 months and I’ll hit 3,000 miles today. No mechanical issues.

A couple of times the FM radio gave a message that it could not connect and would not play. After the truck slept, while parked, the radio would work fine the next time I tried to use it. This is really a minor thing, so I’d still say the truck has been 100% reliable.

I'm in Raleigh as well and have had my R1S since the end of September. I have a Large+ battery (SW locked Max). No major issues and a few SW related issues, soft and/or hard reboots have cleared up the issues. I've already done a solo trip to Indiana and back and was able to do it with 3 stops each way using Tesla superchargers in West Virginia and Ohio.

Picked up our 2025 Gen 2 all terrain R1T dual with max battery on Dec 20th. 1400 miles in so far. All good. About to head out on a 1200 mile Trip this Weekend and looking forward to it.

We got ours in Sept. Dual Large+.
We have already driven it over 13k miles.
There are a couple of things I would likely want to schedule a service visit to take care of but I’ve been avoiding it. They aren’t critical - or at least appear to not be. Wind noise in the front left and right windows, etc. No motor issues. I wish the charging curve for the battery could sustain 125-150kw+ for longer when DCFC.

Otherwise it’s been pretty solid. I get in the habit of rebooting the computer at least once a week.
