Anyone who experience this issue, please contact Rivian support and let them know about it. They have to see that it's a large enough issue and it hasn't been fixed in the latest update.

Not working for me either after multiple resets. I get the notification that it picked up motion events but when it goes to Motion Cam it just says “Nothing here yet”

It’s amazing how many people come to the forums to complain or ask what do do when the first answer should always be to attempt a reset …

If you read this thread from the start you will see that most have indicated that they’ve done resets to no avail. I’ve done 3 infotainment resets and a vehicle reset. Each time it brings back the videos temporarily and then next time the vehicle starts it says “Nothing to see here” on the screen. Motion hasn’t been recorded since 9/12 even though I get notifications each time the vehicle is parked in a busy area.

Gary came back for me when I unplugged my drive cam memory card. When I plug it in the whole system flips out and resets. Gen 1

When I first got the truck I was checking the motion cam footage every day, deleting it if nothing interesting happens. I got out of the habit of doing it though. I work at Home Depot and came out to a shopping cart resting against my truck. Thankfully no damage but I figured I would look at the motion cam footage. Got the “nothing to see here yet” message and started thinking I had not see. Gary pop up or my lights flash when I walk by the truck. Not sure how long it hasn’t been working. I tried a couple infotainment resets nothing. Last night o did a vehicle restart. After it restarted I went it the motion cam tab it loaded and I could see the dates and it appears it has been recording. Sadly it crashed and closed about 2-3 seconds after. Every time I’d try and access it would load then crash. Today after work I went into the motion cam tab and it was displaying the “nothing to see here yet” message. Did another restart. Again it would display the videos but crash 2-3 seconds later. I pulled my ssd out as there was some footage from a couple weeks ago o wanted to view. It seems to be recording all my drives just fine. Guess I’ll reach out to Rivian. Working at HD I want to be able to see if something happens to my truck.

Side bar issue. The other night when I got home I walked away from truck and it locked. Then I walked back out by it and it unlocked and doors handles popped out. I have it set to lock only. It has done this a couple times in the past and I did a combo of deleting and re-entering home address plus infotainment reset and that has seemed to do the trick. Last night when it happened I hopped I truck to try those steps. When I pulled up the nav screen(I’m usually is drive mode or Apple Music) the map loaded and it showed briefly like I was still at work, before resetting and showing me at home. Today as I was heading to lunch got to truck and doors did not unlock, used fob, ran home for lunch, after work walking up to truck, did not open again. This time I got in and opened nav screen, this time it briefly still showed my location as being at home, then reset and showed me at work. I got out walked away, truck locked, walked back toward it and it unlocked. So there seems to be some sort of GPS glitch. I never pull up nav screen for my around town driving, only when going somewhere. I do have motion cam set to record everywhere so not sure these issues are related or not.

I tried:
- Infotainment reset. No luck.
- Deleted all recorded events from portable drive. No luck.
- Format the portable SSD. No luck.
- Full system reset. This brought back motion cam for 2 days, but now it seems to have stopped again. (I got drive cam back, but the dash garage door open button went away)

Another interesting note. Before reformatting the drive, it contained a number of drive cam recordings, even though in the car it showed "Nothing here." And, the Motion folder was missing from the drive.
