Garage door sync not working

I am not able get the garage door sync working.
I have genie model 2024
Also step say press button on remote but which button on remote, I have 3 buttons on the remote(1,2,3)
Anyone else having same or similar model and have successfully got it working?

It’s the button you press to open the door. Do all three buttons open the garage door?

Did it work prior to this most recent update? Or is this your first time trying to set it up?

Conceptually, you are sharing the signal that opens your door with the Rivian. When you press the remote button that opens the door, the Rivian intercepts and saves the signal. Once programmed, it can then replicate said signal to open your door.

In general, you first press your remote button when prompted. Once the Rivian has it, you then have to press the "Learn" button on your garage opener base unit, then head back to your Rivian, and press the garage opening icon on the screen to match them up. It might take a few attempts - I had to do it twice. Follow the onscreen directions. They're pretty straightforward.

Oh, and make sure your truck is either all the way in or just outside the garage. I ~almost~ made a boo-boo by starting the process when the truck was half in, half out. I never claimed to be smart.

I've had the same problem not being able to sync R1T with Garage door opener. I solved the problem by using a original brand remote controller. I had used 3rd party remote controller (smarter than original one) but Rivian won't sync with it. Thankfully I had the original dumb remote controller that came with the door opener in my storage so I dug that up took the dust off and put batteries in then used it to sync with R1T and walla it worked like charm!

Thank you all, I tried all the options you guys provided but none worked for me, it says " Garage setup unsuccessful please call the CEC" and I was waiting to get hold of someone for 45 mins and tired of hold music and hanged up. No wait time notification or callback option either.

Did you get this fixed? I have same issue with my new R1T and curious how you fixed it.

Hi. I was able to complete this set up with the following method on an overhead door brand garage door (like the Genie):

1). Pull the car into the garage and have a broom or other tool handle ready in order to push the learn button on the garage door opener unit now above the truck.

2). Get to the sync screen and before you press sync, hold down the remote button for about 5 seconds then hit sync.....it should sync shortly after this.

3) When the next screen comes up, you will have to use the broom handle to hit the learn button on your garage door opener unit. Hold the learn button down until it starts to flash.

4). Follow the rest of the instructions.....sending sync tones from the vehicle to the opener. I had to do this twice along with resyncing etc as it didn't take it the first time.

Try that.

I was just able to resolve an issue I had attempting to configure my garage door opener. I have a LiftMaster and it was not pairing. I changed the battery for the remote and that did the trick.

None of the steps mentioned above work in my case, and I tried them all: using the original garage remote controller, changing fresh batteries and my underwear, resetting the garage door motor, and resyncing it with the remote control.

Before blaming my garage system setup, I just want to mention that the programming worked flawlessly on my wife's Volvo and my BMW.

I'll try to wash my R1S tonight and give it another try. Fingers crossed!

Anyone have luck with this? I have had no luck with an older Genie, original remote, new batteries. My Volvo had no problems. The Rivian and Volvo had no issues with a Liftmaster. Thanks.

Actually I was finally able to get it to work with an aftermarket ACSCTG Type 1 remote. It would NOT work with the OEM older Genie remotes (I tried 2 of them). Strange that it didn't work with them. So for anyone who has issues, I would buy one of these: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07V6K263K

It’s been over six months, and Rivian still hasn’t addressed this issue. I was able to pair other cars with my garage door easily and without any hassle, but that’s not the case with the Rivian.
My only solution is to use the 70s method.
