Anyone else notice that their garage door opener isn't working as well as it used to?
I feel like I used to not even think about it and just tap the button while reversing out of my driveway. Now, it seems like I almost need to be at a full stop, looking at the pop-up on my dash (the picture of the Right steering wheel stalk that shows up when I'm close to my house) and VERY DELIBERATELY press and hold the button for it to transmit and close the garage door. Similarly, It never seems to open on the first try any more, where I used to just tap it as I approached my home, maybe 150 yards away.

I wonder if there were customer complaints about the button being "too touchy" or that someone would fat finger the buttons while turning the wheel? It seems like a delay has been added to this functionality, perhaps even a script that requires a more deliberate press when the wheel is turned or the vehicle is in motion?

I really liked the way it used to just work. I got used to the responsiveness (muscle memory). Lately it seems like I end up pressing it like 3 times and then holding it down before it actually transmits. With "long Press" being a different function than "short press" on the opposite stalk, it feels very counter intuitive to need to do this. It's also far more triggering than I'd like to admit and leads to me cussing out my R1S on a daily basis. It's literally the first and last thing I need my car to do, so it's really messing with what used to be a very positive Rivian experience. I've done all the resets.
Anybody else?

same on my R1T. I thought it was my imagination --- but indeed, it is 'slower' and I seem to need two tries to get the darn garage door to operate. I'm on the cusp of just grabbing my old 100% reliable clicker thing and sticking it on the visor.

I think Rivian sometimes invents over-engineered solutions for problems that don't exist.

Any chance you recently replaced the light bulbs in or around your garage, or have them turned on when you didn't before due to shorter days?

Some LED lights produce interference that can interfere with the signal. They make special garage door compatible led bulbs to address this. It might be a placebo but I feel like I notice a significant difference in reception range when I use them.

That's interesting, but no, I haven't made any bulb changes since owning the R1S

Mine works fine but I do hold the button down until the icon changes so I know that it sent the signal.

Purchased my R1S this past June and have never had any issues with the opener. On the most recent software release.

Agreed…mine does that too. Hardly ever just a “one push” event.

Seems like a more deliberate push, wait for icon to change is needed as another poster mentioned

My garage door opener doesn’t work well either. Initially, it would work from the top of the driveway (about 50’ away from the external antenna), but now it only works when I am parked right next to the external antenna (about 5’ away). Very frustrating.

Still works great for me. Honestly, the Rivian one works way better than any other car I have had with programmed openers and better than the clickers.

Assuming you have tried a variety of resets, etc. to sync things back up?

Yes...! I thought it was just me. You 100% have to push the button more deliberately than before the update 2x ago. My guess is if you don't notice the change, you pushed the button more deliberately before the update. But for those of us "tap and go" types, you definitely need to "press and hold" now.

The question is why make the change?
