This started popping up today, it seems to come and go and also occasionally a similar warning pops up for the front camera. Seems like a loose connection somewhere? Is this something I can try to fix myself? I filed a service request but as always, the earliest mobile appointment is over 8 weeks away. Already tried both resets, it didn't fix it.

I have the same problem that started recently after a cold snowy day. I tried cleaning, resets and nothing. I have a service appointment in early March. Gen1.

Yeah it's been cold here too, but no snow for a few weeks now. Going to warm up next week, lets see if it goes away. I have to wait until end of April before Rivian will look at it, maybe I can convince them to find me an earlier slot.

The only self-fix you should attempt is cleaning the sensors themselves or a reset. You risk voiding warranty coverage once you go past that (assuming you are still under warranty)…

Well, just got a note from Rivian that they can't look at it during a mobile appt so I have to bring it in. Hopefully first week of March.

Had it twice yesterday. There was snow and dirty snow respectively around the front two sensors. When it melted away, the sensors came back on just fine

People say that, and tell the SC so, then they bring it in caked in mud asking why adaptive cruise control won't work ??‍♂
We had sensors covered in salt before. It gave us false alarms on the proximity sensor but it didn't say it wasn't working. When the camera is blocked due to dirt, you get a different warning that the camera is blocked. I'll double check later, but the vehicle isn't very dirty right now. There isn't any warning telling us to clean the sensors.

I cleaned mine multiple times too, but will take a picture because sometimes taking a close-up reveals dirt you cannot see.

There could be salt, dirt, and grime that got up under the cladding. I was in my front bumper for another reason and saw a lot of detritus up in there.

Yeah it's possible, I don't know how to remove the cladding to get to it. Which is why I started this thread.

If you look in the front wheel well, there are screws at the base in front of the wheel. Pull off all along the bottom and 2 on the underbody shield, then you can peel it back.
